apparently this is not the open world game I thought it was. It is being said that it is extremely linear. I hope that proves false

if its made by the developers of Doom and Quake your in a good treat, unless you never did like Doom or the Quake games thin its no use wanting this game your not going to like it anyway, cause it may have a feel of Doom and Quake in it by the looks of this trailer.

yeah it does but I assumed borderlands type gameplay but its been said by previewers that it plays straight forward :( Was hoping for a fall out type deal with huge areas..

It said “BETHESDA” in the dev credits, so its gotta be worth it.

Game looks cool. sure it’s not the most creative game I’ve seen, but might be solid fun.

If this is even a bit like Fallout it will be a blast. Really liked the ruins and the city.

When I started to write my comment there were no comments here! hahahah

Anyway, this is terrible news! If this game is not open world I just lost my interest in it…

The game will have open areas, for the car combat side of things. But I’m sure the cities like this might be a little more linear. I have to say though, that city reminds me of Bulletstorm, just abandoned with crazy people everywhere. Seems like it will be borderland-ish in the sense of the open yet slightly linear feel. Reminds me of fallout a lot of course.

I must say the only thing I’m disappointed in, is the lack of interactive environments as it seems. Like the guy with the tentacles couldn’t toss a car at you, which would be awesome. But as the case is with most ‘polished’ looking games, you kinda cut down on the interactivity. The closer you get to that ‘pre-rendered background’ kinda style, you lose it. But it looks fantastic, so I can overlook that. Can’t wait for this game.

Sorry Crysis 2, GoW 3 and Uncharted. Rage is now without a doubt the best console period.

    Any news on multiplaye?

The video is not representative of the 60fps goodness that this game is going to provide (hopefully)

I also like how the vegetation bends while going through them, many games lack this, and I don’t think it rocket science (tho I guess it should require a hefty deal of programming to replace static vegetation with dynamic ones only where necessary)

Yay for borderlands without the cool art style, and with 17.5 million less weapons!

Looks hot, though I am getting a bit tired of the post-apocalyptic cityscape. Anyway, I have faith in both iD and Bethesda. Doom 2 is one of my all-time top five games. (Why Doom 2 instead of Doom? Better level design, super shotty, archvile.)

    ^

The only problem with the 17.5 million weapons in Blands, is that they were essentially ALL the same. That game was great, but it’s biggest problem was that the loot drops DIDN’T scale appropriately when playing with multiple people. Which I hated so bad, ESPECIALLY when the level cap was raised.

But I guess that’s why people always hacked the game and made custom guns and shields…

To be honest I don’t want to see a game like RAGE being made by these guys. What I want for the PS3 is DOOM 1-3. Remakes or reboot, or even DOOM 4.
