God of War 4 September 2012? PSM3 Says Yes

UK Publication PSM3 is claiming that God of War 4 will be launching September 2012. They claim to have heard this info from a reliable source that is close to the God of War Universe and that he let this info “slip”.

You guys ready for this game? What do you think will be the story line considering the ending of God of War 3?

that’s going to be a quick release/ dev cycle. although I guess the engine is already built after GoW3.

but it would be awesome, I love the series. and I’m definitely excited to hear about the story of the new game after the 3rd’s ending.

If it’s true it certainly is a title worth waiting for.

Personally, I’m not really excited, GoW is fun no doubt, but for me, it isn’t much more.

I loved GoW, but I’d rather see the development studio move on to another IP. Plus, they said GoW 3 was going to be the last one (except for the portables).

They did say GoW 3 was the last but they might have changed there minds. Let’s hope they did!!!

God of war 4 doesnt havnt to have events after gow3. it could be in between the whole thing, like the other psp titles. or it could be in depth origins. Loads of games have and are doing it so i wouldn’t be surprised.

This would be a rental for me as I platinumed gow3 in 2 days. Personally I want to see the game engine used for other games

Maybe they pulled a Kojima, with the ‘no more Metal Gear’ but then changed their minds. Either way I’d buy it.

I’m down for another God of War loved the last one. Guess Kratos is still mad about stuff, lol.

Well, that was cheaper than a manicure, right?

I own them all and will probably get the HD collection eventually. Still have to play the ones on the PSP but first one is in my games drawer and I took advantage of the half off offer to get Ghost of Sparta.

As for sequel ideas? They can always go the “lost memories” or “alternate timeline — What if?” routes.

The original vision for GOW3 was for Kratos to kill Zeus at the beginning then the gods from other religions (ancient Egyptian, Norse etc) battling each other to become the new dominant ones. Maybe they’ll go somewhere along those lines? Either way, I love the GOW series, so I’m pumped.

@Jonaskin: Interesting. Don’t remember that but then again, it was a looooong time ago. Could be an interesting idea.

@Jason I hate to be a troll…which probably makes me more of a troll…but I HATE when people say “I could care less” …you mean “I couldn’t care less.”
I apologize to everyone for posting this and it’s nothing personal, Jason but arrrgh! ..it bothers me.

BLOODYICECREAM: “I could care less” …you mean “I couldn’t care less.”

XD that’s like when people say “Irregardless” instead of “regardless”

Maybe he does mean he could care less? As in, he cares a little bit, but doesn’t care less to the fullest of not caring. Couldn’t care less suggests that he, well, couldn’t possibly care less :P
