The Soul Will Burn In 2012 |

“Transcending history and the world, a tale of souls and swords eternally retold.”

During a media event in Dubai earlier today, Namco revealed a teaser trailer for the next installment of the Soul Calibur series. Soul Calibur V takes place 17 years after the 4th game and will star a new character named Patroklos, the young son of franchise veteran Sophitia.

While the trailer was lacking gameplay, SCV developers promise that the pace of the game (as well as the online modes) has been improved, with easy to perform combos and moves. Soul Calibur V is due out sometime next year for the PS3 and 360. Expect more details to be shared at E3. In the meantime check out SCV’s official website.

  • I’ve lost interest in this series after the last 2 honestly … will have to see some gameplay though. More interested in Tekken Tag Tournament 2!

  • Don’t have an interest in fighters anymore.

  • This is a no go for me.

  • Tough crowd.

I agree though. The last Soul Calibur game I actually enjoyed playing was the second one. SC III was ok. SC IV wasn’t worth a purchase for me. Hopefully SCV can recapture the magic. If not, there’s always Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken Tag 2 to look forward to.
