Dead Island, 11 Min Gameplay Video

In post apocalyptic paradise, accuracy and smarts is what you will need to survive the onslaught of scantily clad zombies. Dead Island attempts to set itself apart from your run of the mill zombie adventure by avoiding the super fast button mashing of a hack and slash. You will need to be precise and calculative on your attacks or prepare to be eaten alive when fatigue sets in. Guns will be sparse at times to ensure the danger is felt.

The island itself is huge so you have the option of driving a vehicle and mowing down a few unsuspecting zombies or you can fast track from the map. You also get a rage mode that allows you to ward off fatigue while you swing away at some of the tougher zombie types.

The game is shaping up to be a must have for FPS and zombie fans alike. Lets just hope we see zombie sharks!!!

LOVE the atmosphere and local…wish I could say the same about the character models. Or maybe it’s the stiff animation that makes something about them look off.

I like the fact that you are forced to fight up close and personal most of the time. Looking forward to trying this out at E3!

I was already impressed with this game. Now I’m speechless.

This looks nearly perfect! A lot of confirmations here (such as coop and crafting) and they sound promising!

This game just became a high priority.

    I liked that too!

But at least I’ll be prepared! Just finished Fallout New Vegas on very hard difficult and hardcore mode using only melee weapons!

I had some high hopes for this game but after watching the footage, I can tone down my expectations. Nothing really eye catching or feeling of “must have” came over me. Seems decent but the stiff controls and animation are horrible.

It’s actually exactly what I was expecting.. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Just Cause 2 type graphics.. Not expecting an amazing WOW factor from it, but I am expecting a very fun game.

@Oly: Are we expecting free games from Aubrey as well?

I was never hype for this game, I heard about it 2 weeks ago. And well the person that told me about was hype. After watching this and seeing what you wrote I couldn’t agree more. The game needs more polish along with gameplay style.

    #Jason and 2Fast4ux,

This video quality sucks it looks bad, not the game it self it will look better when its out on your PS3 or PC.

wow, people are saying it looks bad, but it loks fine to me…sometimes you play the game for THE GAME not because of how it looks…LA Noire is a great game, but the graphics arent impressive, I dont hear people bagging on that game and its ALREADY OUT…who knows what tweeks this dev will do to the gameplay or graphics…dont bag on a game that isnt even out yet..

I can understand why some are cracking on the looks…I mean, that animation alone looks pretty rudimentary. Plus some of the textures are hit/miss…some even WAY miss.

But I’ve still got hopes! I can power through those faults and still have a good time!

Sure, maybe the game doesn’t look perfect, but who really cares?

Games are supposed to be fun and entertaining, this certainly looks like it. Just remember the time when you had fun with crappy looking games (compared to today standards) and you’ll be in for a great experience.

By the way, the games looks great, not the best ever, but great.
