@Pedro: Yep, that could work. You transfer your saves to the cloud and during the same month upgrade your HDD and then bring them back to the cloud.

As for the HDD specifications others HAVE changed theirs and they could be of more help. Right of the top of my head, I remember it HAS to be a Notebook SATA HDD, 5400 RPM speed.

I think I’ll be using my free month of PS+ to do that little upgrade.

Is there any specifications I should worry when buying the new HDD?

I wanted to try that, but I've yet to understand if my locked saves would transfer to the new HDD. Also, do you have to "reinstall" the PS3 system on it?
