Damn. I only got a PS3 in June of last year. Now they're springing a PS4 on us already?

Well, looks like I'm going to have to wait for the PS5 to come out before I can afford a PS4.

And the PS4 better have backwards compatibility with PS3, PS2 and PS1 games.

Rant over. Anyway, this is good news. Even if it does come out in the near future, I won't be worried. I have more than a large backlog of games for both PS2 and PS3, and I'm going to be saving for a new computer for college. So, it'll be awhile before the PS4 comes out for me.

From a hardcore gamers perspective I will weigh the cost of the PS4 when it arrives along with the games I would want and then see if I can fix my pc up for less. I think the next generation may be my time to step back and save $$$.

Jay: If they used updated versions of current PS3 tech, the cost won’t be nearly as high, since when the PS3 launched, it launched with all sorts of untested tech. A Cell 2.0, RSX 2.0, etc, will also allow for backwards compatibility built right into the hardware itself, much easier than when the PS2 hardware was being built into the original PS3s

That's my thoughts exactly. Increase the ram of course, but stick to XDR.
