Monster Hunter Portable 3rd Import Review – PSP

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd is one of the better looking PSP titles out there. The amount of detail from the village to the maps is really a step in the right direction. The steam from the kettles to the flags blowing in the wind really add to the cheery atmosphere the village aims for. The color palette in the game is bright and cheerful and is prominent throughout the few hundred hours of game play. Monsters are extremely detailed and show real time damage as the battle progresses. The game looks so good that revisiting previous titles will cause you to cringe.

First Ever Konami E3 Pre-Party Promises to be “Memorable”

As mentioned last week, Konami is sending special invitations to a select few for their first ever Pre-E3 party. According to an e-mail that I received from Konami’s public relations partner

“This will be an event filled with surprises, memorable announcements, and guest for a live audience around the world..”

What do you want to see? What do you want to hear? I will be live blogging from the event! Include @ps3blogdotnet in your tweet to ask us questions during the event.

Oh and on a side note if you happen to live in the Los Angeles area and you’re just planning to show up. You have to be invited and received an e-mail invite from Konami’s public relations partner to attend. I also omitted some info because I don’t want to be responsible for party crashers ;)

Sony Confirms PlayStation 4

This image is fan made but, it still looks pretty damn awesome.

With Wii 2 due to be shown at E3 and hints of new Microsoft hardware abound, it was only a matter of time before Sony dropped hints about its plans for the next gen. Sony’s executive vice president and chief financial officer Masaru Kato has confirmed that the company is putting together a “future platform” – the almost assured PlayStation 4. He referred to Sony’s next console during a conference call to investors when asked to clarify an increase in research and development costs, according to Eurogamer.
Kato said:

“For the home equipment the PS3 still has a product life but this is platform business, so for the future platform – when we’ll be introducing that product, I cannot discuss that – but our development is already under way, so the costs are incurred there.”

The news contrasts claims made by Sony Computer Entertainment chief Kaz Hirai earlier this year, who said that the firm was “not deliberating” a PS4.
