“On Us” Movie Rentals
The following rental movie titles are available to PlayStation®Network customers in the United States over this weekend.**

  • Ghostbusters
  • Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within
  • Bad Boys
  • How to Get them:
    1. Log on to the PlayStation®Store
    2. Access the Video Tab
    3. Click on the “Welcome Back” tab in the upper left menu
    4. Select any or all films to rent and begin downloading
    5. Go to the XMB™ to watch your movie rental(s) on us (You have 30 days to begin watching your rental. Once started, you have 24 hours to complete viewing.)

Due to high traffic on PlayStation Store, you may encounter error messages or issues. We advise you to check back a little later and try again.

In addition, all members will be able to sign up for 30 days of free PlayStation Plus access. This is an excellent time to get signed up since the Uncharted 3 beta is dropping in on us soon. Existing PS+ members will get an extra 60 days of membership.

Sony is aware of download issues, so if you have any, they suggest doing the following:

“Make sure to complete the download of each title all the way otherwise you’ll have to go into Account Management Transaction Management Services List SCEA Promotions to download the games.”

The Welcome Back rewards program is available from now until July 3rd, 2011. The PlayStation store fully returned earlier this week.

  • Downloading Dead Nation as I type this.

  • Iam downloading Little Big Planet and Wipeout over Super Stardust hope that Wipeout is better cause it looks like Fzero from the SNES and N64 and I like furture looking racing games, and I already have Dead Nation and Infamous. Does anybody know if you have 30 days on the free PS+ membership? cause I am going to wait on that before I activate it, I know you have 30 days to get your free games and if you dont they are gone, is that the same for the free PS+ membership are can you keep it untill you do use it?

  • I got all 4 of my games. Good to go.

  • Come on PS3, hurry back to me safely .. I want my Infamous!

  • Got my two ps3 games, though the store is probably dealing with a lot of traffic right now, so I keep getting errors when I browse. I’ll do the rest later.

I have both a German & Japanese PSN account and wasn’t able to log in to the Japanese one but I was with the German one. I was able to take full advantage of the free games and playstation plus. I also downloaded the Outland demo which I did not see in the US store.

The 5 games are different also. Hustle kings and ratchet and clank.

Is it possible to sign up with a new PSN account and still get playstation plus for 30 days? If so making foreign accounts can get you the freebies from each nation.

  • Jay

you had to have had the account before the outage started

  • jwhyrock

Good for me, bad for others. Lame. Japan’s store is still down looks like.

  • got my dead nation and my psp games, thanks sony!!!!!

  • Dead Nation and LBP for me on the PS3 ^^

  • As soon as I get home I’ll be downloading LBP and Infamous!

  • Already had inFamous, didn’t like LBP. I got Wipeout and Dead Nation. I’m finding Dead Nation to be really hard even on the easiest difficulties. Wipeout is a lot of fun, it’s like Mario Kart for adults and non-Nintendo fanboys.

I was debating between Super Stardust HD and Dead Nation, and decided on Dead Nation after realizing that Super Stardust HD is basically Geometry Wars (which I have on my iPhone) minus the shapes.

  • Too be honest, I would’ve preferred like 50 to 75 bucks to use anywhere in the PS3 store, as not everyone would be into those games or may already have them. Plus, there’s some DLC I’ve been wanting for Burnout Paradise, GTA IV and others so that would’ve been useful. Still not regretting Dead Nation and Wipeout, though.

Like me. I already own every game. If you are a loyal Sony subscriber who buys a lot if content you’re hosed. Thx Sony oh so generous. Even $15 PSN credit would be appreciated so I don’t have to spend money on Wizardry for example.

  • When I go to pick to download ps3 games, infamous does not show up as one of them WTF?????? HELP cuz im really pissed off right now.

  • @jwhyrock: Wyzardry will be free on PS+ for those with a subscription.

  • jwhyrock

@eden can you elaborate? do you have a link or something? I was going to buy the game but if you’re sure I’ll wait

  • ahh boo nothing there i really want oh well guess ill get infamous and sell my hard copy

  • Ghostbusters, Bad Boys, and The Spirits Within are the “on us” movie rentals? Wow what a flippin’ waste.

  • jwhyrock

    Yep lame

  • @jwhyrock: Sorry, I was thinking about Magic The Gathering while I read Wyzardry. Got my wizards mixed. Sorry for the inconvenience!

@IvanTheGent: Well, Ghostbusters is a great classic movie, Bad Boys is sorta ok and a popcorn flick and Spirits Within is a movie I own on DVD and Bluray and watch every now and then.

  • jwhyrock

Np but I didn’t see MTG for free in the US store yet. I found it in german psn
