[E3 2011] ICO/Shadow of the Colossus Collection FINALLY has a release date! | PS3Blog.net

The wait will soon be over as Sony has decided it is now time to reveal the price and release date for THE Bluray package we’ve all been waiting for during the last 12 months: The ICO/shadow of the Colossus Collection will be released on September 27, 2011 for a suggested retail price of only $39.99! To give you an idea of how much Sony loves US, japanese gamers are getting these as separate releases, each one at the price we’ll pay for both. They DO get an awesome box that can house both cases so they got us on that one.

That’s a great price, and the features of the remastered versions of each game are even better:

– 1080p
– 60 frames per second
– Trophy support
– Full stereoscopic 3D
– 7.1 surround sound
– Did I mention it’s only $39.99 for two of the best PS2 games, ever?

And now, here’s the trailer for the collection so you can SEE why this is something that every PS3 owner must add to their collection once the leaves start to fall:

  1. I’m surprised you could still find time to post something today Eden, you know, with all the Nintendo news coming up ;p hahahaha

  2. @Pedro: Hahaha. I’m jumping between posting in here and over at http://www.4colorrebellion.com for the Nintendo news. I own a PS3 and a PSP NOW and the Wii U isn’t out until 2012 soooo hehehe.

  3. I haven’t got a chance to finish Shadow of the Colossus on PS2. I will get a chance to play it all over again! I was kind of disappointed, they haven’t showed any footage of The Last Guardian or (Journey).

  4. @Captain_CHEETO: I DID finish Shadow of the Colossus but could never track down a copy of ICO. I’ll start with that one on the collection and then move on to replaying SotC. The 60 fps will reaaaaaally help it since it pushed the PS2 to it’s limits and, while it IS a beautiful game, the system just couldn’t keep a steady framerate.

    Is this collection HD ready?

obviously I didn’t read the entire article! 1080p …. sorry mate

  7. I’ll be picking this one up. Loved SotC, especially watching others and seeing how quickly they could solve the fights XD always entertaining.

  8. I would have paid $60 so it was a CE and had a CD and artbook to go along with the great games.

  9. EdEN: I would have paid $60 so it was a CE and had a CD and artbook to go along with the great games.

I second that. A sound track and may be some art of the new game The Last guardian would be Epic.

  10. Well, here’s hoping that Sony does a CE for The Last Guardian!

  11. Nice, I can’t wait for this. Nice price too

  12. Good deal, I might get it if I have enough money towards the end of the year. Too many games.

  13. @GeneticMania: Yep, I can relate to that. I won’t buy another game until december 2011 so I can work on my backlog and save some $$ once the games from the first half of 2011 are heavily discounted during the holidays.

  14. @EdEN: I agree with you about the discounts, but a couple of games I want to get when they come out. Mainly Skyrim and Dark Souls. Which reminds me that I still need to write that E3 review for Skyrim.

  15. @GeneticMania: Did the math and I’ve got to finish 5 games a week to cut down my backlog… and getting 100+ hours games wouldn’t help me at all hahaha. Only exception might be Catherine since Atlus has been good to me in the past.

  16. @EdEN: Not a fan of Atlus, but I’d take them over Namco. Which is why I’m probably going to import Dark Souls.
