Blu-ray Releases for the Week of 6.27.11

For Lord of the Rings fans the Blu-ray Extended Edition trilogy is finally out. Price isn’t to bad, you can get it for $70 off Amazon. The movie sucker punch didn’t look interesting enough to me to watch it, I’ve heard that it was ok to bad. But the Season of the Witch was a bad movie. Glad somebody treated me to that mess.

The Cowboy Bebop movie is out this week too. Loved the series, the movie was good too. Lastly a movie from the 80′s has arrived on Blu-ray called “The Last Starfighter”. I remember liking this as a kid, but I haven’t seen it since I was 8 or so I bet. Wonder if it has aged well or not. Anything interest you this time?

Highlights for this week: The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy (Extended Edition + Digital Copy), Sucker Punch, The Last Starfighter, Season of the Witch, High School of the Dead Complete Collection, Warrior’s Way, Cowboy Bebop: The Movie, Dragon Ball Z Kai: Part Five, Rideback: The Complete Series, Jumanji, Van Helsing, Serenity,

Saints Row the Third Gameplay Looks to be “Over the Top” Fun

This video actually convinced me to become a fan. It’s def over the top, but looks like it is going to be a lot of fun. Open world, GTA / Just Cause 2 type mayhem with crazy costumes… how can you go wrong? In this video, Drew Holmes, the writer for Saints Row: The Third at Volition, Inc., walks us through nearly 8 minutes of open-world game play in the city of Steelport.

“Saints Row: The Third is the most over-the-top, biggest guilty pleasure in gaming, and we’re here to show it off. Drew will talk about many topics in this nearly 8-minute long demo including our updated graphics engine, the brand new city of Steelport, some new weapons, new vehicles, and of course, beating down street peddlers with a giant purple Dildo Bat. Did we also mention you’ll get to see the VTOL and Professor Genki’s Super Ballistic Manapult as well?”

Saints Row the Third is set for a Nov. 15, 2011 release from THQ.

New Way to Earn Points for Writers

Writers can now get points for people commenting on their blog posts. The author of the post will get 2 points for each unique comment from a member on that specific post. For example if I comment on another persons post the author will get 2 points. But if I comment again on the same post they won’t get another 2 points. It’s only for the first comment made on that specific blog post. This will show up in your personal logs as well for reference.

Just thought that I’d reward the writers that get comments on their posts with a little point action.
