Personally, I think it is usually the suspension that needs the most tuning. Transmission ratios are usually fine, so you'd just need to widen the rear end/final gear ratio, but I think you have to be at a certain level to do that. Just make sure that the car has good acceleration and a top speed that doesn't come up too fast no, gotta stick with the one you tuned, so be sure to get practice in.
