PSN Users Prove To Be Very Generous
After Japan was rocked by an earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis earlier this year, Sony initiated a relief program for the victims of the tragedy on PlayStation Network. Gamers could show their support for the survivors of the disaster by purchasing special items via PSN. The response from gamers around the world was massive as Sony has announced that as of July 13th PlayStation Network users raised a combined total of 129.7 million yen ($1.587m US dollars ),worldwide. The full amount will be donated to a relief organization from each specific region. Good job everyone! Via: PSLS
New Arkham City Trailer Shows Penguin

We’ve all seen the concept art, but not much else was known about The Penguin’s part in the sequel to the much acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum. In this exclusive GameSpot trailer we can see Batman fighting a whole lot of baddies as usual. Some takedowns and combos seemed new to me as well.
Staring the trailer we can see Penguin without his usual top hat and some of “the best” henchmen money can buy (his words, not mine). Also new is the massive undead super villain Solomon Grundy, but I have no idea how this powerful enemy (known to be as strong as Superman on occasion) could’ve been imprisoned by a short fat guy with a umbrella collection and seemingly average chains.
We can all find out more about what’s their part in all this when Batman: Arkham City hits the stores on October 18th.
Play Mortal Kombat as Freddy Krueger

Apparently the last DLC character for the summer, which has been kept a secret until now, is no one less than Freddy Krueger himself. Scorpion is no longer alone in the depths of Hell and will be joined on August 9th by the nightmare haunting vengeful whatever he is.
He doesn’t seem to have the greatest set of attacks out there, but you can see all his “classic” moves in there. He’s certainly a very interesting choice of character, his fatalities look pretty fun. Any of you guys going to pick him up for $5?

[Giveaway] Tekken Blu-ray

Anchor Bay Entertainment provided us a copy of the Tekken movie on Blu-ray to giveaway on PS3Blog.net! I never got around to see this movie. I heard from some of my friends it was good. Overall rating on Amazon at the moment is 3 1/2 stars. But most give it good ratings for a live action movie based on a video game.
They did a decent job of picking martial arts actors that look similar to the characters of Tekken for the most part. Live action video game movies are usually pretty bad but a lot of people seem to like it according to many reviews I’ve read.
Also speaking of Tekken are you going to see Tekken: Blood Vengeance 3D this coming Tuesday? One night only, so get your tickets now if your interested. I have my tickets.
