Could the discrepancy in the counts result from the fact that some of the above are publishers more than developers? Santa Monica, for instance, has worked with ThatGameCompany (flOw, Flower), but it is my understanding that it was Jenova Chen’s TGC team that made those games, and Sony Santa Monica execs just sort of growled at Chen occasionally about development time. But I guess that doesn’t make Santa Monica a publisher, does it? I’ll just shut up, as I don’t actually know anything about the business of software production and publication.
