Meet Rioichi Cooper From Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time

Sanzaru Games has shared a few new details regarding the fourth installment to the Sly Cooper franchise. Thieves in Time will feature new playable characters whim we’ve only heard about throughout the series. One of those characters is Rioichi Cooper, a ninja from Feudal Japan who utilizes a technique Sly Cooper was able to learn in the first game.

In Thieves in Time Sly must travel through time to save his ancestors from an enemy interfering with the fabric of time. After being rescued by Sly, Rioichi becomes playable as one of the gang. SG has confirmed that other members of Sly’s lineage will join the group at some point in the game as well.

See more of Rioichi after the jump.

Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time is scheduled to release sometime next year.

I’ve never played this series, what kind of game is it?

Will this be a retail game or a PSN title? Graphics look a bit undeveloped imo.

@Pedro: Platforming/thief game make sense? This is retail. The filters and art style make it look like that but it should look better at release AND in motion.

Go to your Amazon Store and buy the Sly Collection (all 3 PS2 games in HD with added Move mini games AND a platinum trophy for each game!) since it’s only $20 and you’ll get a LOT of content from your purchase :).

Ok I’m not otaku nerd, but I just love it how this new guy is supposed to be Sly’s ancestor and Cooper is not at all Japanese XD Unless it’s supposed to just be an in-game feudal japan and it’s he’s like Fox-anese or something…

Anyway haven’t played Sly games yet, they any good? I though they looked to cartoony.

@Darklurkr23: If his ancestor is from Feudal Japan he could have always moved to America and married a nice girl up to the point where Sly lost most of his asian features.

Platforming/thief… don’t understand what is… Though I might pass, I’m not too fond of platforming, it’s not a secret. And the filters look really jagged, that’s not what you use them for.

    Yep. That’s likely what happened.

Hmm, the Sly series is fun, I love platformers, but honestly I see this more of a PSN title.

This will make the game more fun than it will be.

@dragon290513: Go 3 for 3! One more plat left! I just bought the HD collection since it was $20 so 3 plats for that price will be great!
