Free Saints Row 2 with Purchase of Saints Row: The Third

“For all players that purchase Saints Row: The Third on PlayStation 3 and redeem their online pass codes within the next 90 days, they will receive a digital copy of Saints Row 2 (a $19.99 value)… absolutely free!”

What an awesome deal! This game is over the top fun! Expect a review soon.

Go back to a simpler time, when the Saints were vying for control of Stilwater, before they were global icons, a household name, and a criminal empire. Before Professor Genki and the Syndicate, there were the Westside Rollers and the Brotherhood. Enjoy classic Saints Row activities like Septic Avenger, where you spray new homes with sewage in order to devalue property. And of course, enjoy a number of DLC packs brought to you by Volitions’ favorite Saints Row 2 producer, Tera Patrick.

Saints Row 2 will be available starting early next week for free, for all players who redeem their online pass in each new copy of Saints Row: The Third. The offer expires on midnight on February 13, 2012, so be sure to redeem your online pass before then, and for those of you who have already done so, keep an eye out early next week for the content. This offer applies to the United States, Canada, and Mexico only.

This is awesome news indeed. However, this is only valid for those who pre-ordered right? I mean, what code are they talking about?

They are talking about the online pass code included with every new purchased game.

Personally, I feel ripped off. I have had SR2 already and played it for a while (Lack or trophies eventually stopped me from playing it. We were informed that there would be some exclusive content for SR3 on the PS3. This does not qualify as exclusive or SR3 content. If you don’t have SR2, then this is a great deal along the lines of other games on Blu ray disk including older games in the series (Assassins Creed, White Knight Chronicles and maybe another one or two). For those who have SR2, already played it or are trophy seekers, this bonus is a bust.

I like that there is something extra, but compared to the expectation set by THQ as “Exclusive content for SR3 on the PS3″, this fails.

My buddy returned this today and got $28 for it and was happy to do so. It looks like brainless fun to me but his taste and mine are similar so Im awaiting your review Oly

Don’t get me wrong. I’ve been dying for an excuse to buy SR2 but this sort of piddly BS is not ok. It doesn’t count as “including old games” when it’s a digital version. At least with WKC, game 1 IS on the BD.

I work with a 2-5gig deficit of HD space I don’t know if I’m going to be able to clear up the room for SR2 and that’s kinda annoying. Still if I can find a good deal on the Third then I’ll probably do it.

My only question is what’s my timetable?

Nm i just checked… February really is 90 days away..
