Socom Series Creator Jumps In The Vita Wagon With “Unit 13″

It’s no big secret Socom 4 was a fail. Just a quick glance of the official message boards and you will see a whole lot of negativity. Also some of you, who follow industry news may remember the recent downsizing of the company after the release of Socom 4. Zipper Interactive announced a new title today for the PlayStation Vita titled “Unit 13″.

“Fast action, on-the-go gameplay was a key goal for the Unit 13 team,” Zipper president Brian Soderberg writes on PlayStation Blog. “Missions come in a variety of sizes and difficulty. Some are smaller bite-sized battles; others are longer, more challenging, multi-objective missions that are a good test for any skilled shooter fan.”

The game will also feature and make use of the Vita’s 3G and WiFi capability to keep players up to date on leader board positions, new ‘Daily Challenge’ content, new unlocks, shared High Value Target missions, and challenges from friends as they move past you on the leader boards.”

Will this game bring Zipper Interactive back to its former glory? There was no mention of a release date however Mr. Soderberg says: “it’s available right around Vita launch”
