New PlayStation 3 Exclusive Teased | PS3Blog.net

Set for a full reveal on Spike TV’s Video Game Awards Saturday December 10th at 8p ET, SCEA has released a teaser trailer for a new PS3 exclusive that appears to be called “The Last of Us”.

There’s no gameplay footage in the teaser trailers shown but from the looks of it the world has gone to Hell.

The above is just one of the trailers you’ll find on the game’s official website. Another trailer shows an ant infected with Ophiocordyceps camponoti-balzani, a fungi that turns certain insects into “zombies”. It controls the host body and takes it to an ideal growing spot where it then kills the insect by sprouting from it’s brain, as a knowledgeable viewer pointed out on YouTube. This could indicate that “The Last of Us” is another survival horror/ zombie title.

  1. This past week, much has been said about this exclusive PS3 new game that would be something like Super Smash Bros from SCE. What would be interesting if it was along the lines of modnation, where we could make our fighter and his powers.
Now comes this game, that impression has to be a zombie game, if that is like Walking Dead (the best TV of all time), I know that the walking dead will come out for PS3 too.
If not for the zombies, it could be like the old game of Rocksteady Studios: URBAN CHAOS, was very good on the PS2, deserved to have a version for the PS3.
We can only wait for this new exclusive game, and hope to be as good as everyone else.

  2. I hope it’s not a zombie game. There are too many of them now.

  3. Hmmm I find it very strange that this channel was made in 2006…

  4. Looks interesting. And I hope its a game that has a apocalyptic feel, but is mainly about the people over throwing the government, and how criminals took over and what not and people just going through terrible times and what not.

  5. I hope it’s not a zombie game. There are too many of them now.

I agree. If it doesn’t add anything new to the genre then I’m not going to get too excited, if it turns out to be just another zombie game.

@kennygk Some people are speculating that this may turn out to be the Move game, Until Dawn, that was teased 2 years ago. Whatever it turns out to be it’s likely been in the works for a while.

  6. I would LOVE for a survival game that didn’t revolve around zombies. Don’t get me wrong, I love zombies, but mostly in film. I’m sick of the theme and variation on zombie games now.

  7. maybe you play as one of the last super rich people on earth because the 99% of the rest of the population retaliated against them lol.

  8. Me thinks it’s a Zombie game.

  9. Bleh. Another Zombie Game? Is that really what we need right now? This better deal more with emotions than..pretty much any Zombie game I’ve played so far. Otherwise it’ll just be a mindless shooter like all the others.

  10. I thought about it. I wouldn’t mind a zombie game that focused on survival instead of curing the world or destroying all zombies (Walking Dead in game form, except not the actual Walking Dead game for PS3…)

  11. I hope it’s not another zombie game …. too many to count already.

  12. i just hope this game will have a good story and not a zombie game. too much zombies in games these days

  13. maybe you play as one of the last super rich people on earth because the 99% of the rest of the population retaliated against them lol.

You 99% need to lighten up!!

  14. i’ve just read a very interesting post over at GI… wonder if this could actually be a connection. It was enough to get me intrigued.

  15. @Oly: (o’.’)b Let’s take over the world!

  16. Zombies=buy for me regardless

  17. wolfkin

I’m starting to hear people start to talk about zombie burn out….

  18. dragon290513

nah, we bitched about that on the internet since forever

  19. Hmm, Bioware and Epic games both have special announcements, wonder if Epic next game will be a PS3 exclusive …
