Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 Announced |

Wizards of the Coast has announced that Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 will be released in the summer of 2012. It will allow you to manually tap lands for mana (at last!), and it will include support for the moribund Planechase game type, which debuted in 2009. The final boss of the game is Nicol Bolas, whom some speculate will be a Planeswalker card in the Magic 2013 Core Set.

  • That was fast. Need to start on the first one and work my way up hahaha.

  • No kidding, and this ain’t nothin’ compared the the paper magic release schedule. Every three to four months, another set comes out. There are the core sets every year, plus a block that comprises three sets. Check out the release schedule for the past few years:

Avacyn Restored comes out early next month. (I’ll be going to some of the pre-release events at the end of this month.) And I plan on attending my first Grand Prix tournament at the end of May. The GP is in Anaheim, which is pretty close to home. Exciting!

  • Silly premiersoupir, Anaheim is in California! You obviously live in some Moreau-style island!

  • Yeah, SoCal is a trip. I’m ready to move. Just gotta finish this damn dissertation already….

  • Good thing we have our own MtG nerd here so he can keep an eye (since he’s just got the one) on things like these for us! Thanks premier!

  • @pedrolabate: lol! you’re a funny man. 🙂

y’know, Brazil supposedly has a fantastic MTG scene. And one of the best players in the world is Brazilian Paulo Vitor Damo da Rosa, who’s a member of California’s Channel Fireball, which is among the best teams in the world.

  • SOunds amazing 😀
