PlayStation Plus Subscribers: Your June Content is Here and It Is CRAZY! |

June is here, and it is THE month on which paying for a PS+ subscription makes a whole lot of sense. Those with current subscriptions, and those that get one today, will find that there are TWELVE games they can downloand for FREE, from the Playstation Plus section of the PSN store. The list is just plain crazy, and it offers more than $250 worth of games for as little as $5 a month. I suggest you get a one year subscription since it would cost you only $4.16 a month, and the amount of content you’ll get out of that small investment is just mind blowing.

Free Games:

Virtua Fighter 5 – June 5th
inFAMOUS 2 – June 5th
Little Big Planet 2 – June 5th
Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One – June 5th
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – June 5th
Just Cause 2 – June 5th
Saints Row 2 – June 5th
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light – June 5th
Hard Corp: Uprising – June 5th
Choplifter HD – June 5th
Zombie Apocalypse Never Die Alone – June 5th
Sideway NY – June 5th

  • wowza, i only own sideway and just cause 2, will give JC2 to a friend and enjoy the others.

  • @hobbes: What do you mean “give it to a friend”?

  • @eden well, i’ve got some friends locally in the area, that just bought some ps3’s trying to get them into some games, and was going to give them the game, at least that was what I was thinking of doing

  • and to clarify, meant, give the disc version to a friend.

  • Ah, got it. I’ve got Just Cause 2, LBP 2 and Infamous 2 on disc, so I’m selling those to pay for Year 3 of my PS+ sub hehehe.

  • wolfkin

yeah i don’t really trust this ‘free’ while you pay games. so I’ll be keeping my disc version of LBP2 but i guess I won’t be breaking the seal anytime soon. Same with Saints Row 2. I wanted to own inF2 because i love that game.. but i guess I can still buy it on disc if it drops in price and since I’ll have it I will be waiting even longer for that price drop. New Buy it now price went from $20 to $7. I bought Sideway and I’m happy I did but honestly outside of games I own or planned to own on disc i don’t see anything i was really excited to play. Maybe All4One and I think i read that was disappointing. Oh well can’t disappoint at that price. and HC Uprising sounded fun if it’s what I remember so there’s that.

  • This is all worth is for just for Just Cause 2, anyone who has never played that game will have one of the best times ever playing a videogame.

  • Oh and a quick question about ps+, is there a way to check when you subscription expires?

  • ZFM12

Sadly i own half these games

  • bloody hell now that is bloody great

  • two weeks ago i renewed my subscription PSN +
No more words to describe this gifts of Sony.
I would like to see the NBA 2K12, or a Madden NFL or other sports games, never had the PSN + sports games for FREE.
Very lucky i have only LBP2 from this list
Best thing I ever made was to have signed PSN +
sad only by those who bought infamous 2 last week

  • i could see these offers discouraging peps from buying games in the future though.

  • Damn all that free shit? I thought they’d space that out over 4 months. All those games could’ve been 1 dlc and 1 big game. But God Damn!

Maybe theyre thinikin about killin gPS + and they want to go out with a Bang?

  • I just gotta post again. What are they THINKING? I mean God damn!

This has to be a glitch

  • SO is this 1 day only? (And for already memebers obviously) J

JUST HOLY SHIT! Deal of the year.

  • dude, amazing!

  • This is so unexpectedly good that I might get that PS+ sub I’ve been postponing forever!

  • haha you should Pedro. Brill thing for Sony to do during E3

  • wolfkin

@kennygk no there is no direct way to check your expiration date however a bunch of the games you bought have expiration dates. Just check a PSN+ free game and it will have a start date and expire date and “X days left” you can go off that.

  • wolfkin
  • @wolfkin: Actually, you CAN check when PS+ expires for your account. Login, go into account settings, then services or something like that, and you should have, say, Walking Dead Season 1 (since we still have 3 episodes left), any other season pass, and Playstation Plus. check that and it will have “Started on, Expires (or ends, something like that) on”.

Mine is up until March 24, 2013, so I’ve got time to save for year 3.

  • wolfkin

wait what? I’m confused by your example? Walking Dead is a buy thing it shouldn’t have an expiration date.

  • No, it doesn’t have an expiration date. I was just using it as an example of what “services” means, and were you can find your PS+ “service” in the XMB.

  • tedrabear

Notice how they’re all sequils though? If you go into any game shop the price drops on sequils is faster and harder then the originals and even if you buy preowned (I almost always do) that the sequils are always a little cheaper than the original. See I recon Sony are hopng that by offering these games people are going to go out and buy the originals so that they have the collection, and even though some of the games are free standing, there’s no way to really know this until after you’ve played them both.
This example excludes Space Marine, thank you very much Sony for that! : D

  • wolfkin

you raise an interesting point on the sequels @tedrabear but I’m not sure I buy it yet

Virtua Fighter 5 doesn’t really drive you to earlier games.. it’s a H2H fighter.
infamous and LBP were both on HUGE sales earlier. I got LBP from the Blackout.

Saint’s Row was never on PS3 if I recall same as Just Cause

HC:U, Choplifter, ZA:NDA, and Sideway don’t really have previous iterations

R&CF 1 wasn’t in the store and neither was the 2nd if I recall. Quest for Booty was but again that was gifted after the Blackout.

I honestly don’t know about Lara Croft but that’s one game the rest Sony actually has good reason to expect we already have or are unable to get.

  • tedrabear

Perhaps I am overly suspicious then, it always seem to me like companies are less woried about sequils than originals. though now I think back the only reason I have Infamous is because of Sony’s big appology after ‘the incident’. I’m not ungrateful though, don’t get me wrong, in fact I see so many ‘You owe us the world Sony, you b*stards’ forums that I was wondering if this might shut a few people up?

  • wolfkin

it’s possible. and Truthfully it actually works better forwards than backwards

Saint’s Row has a third game that’s fairly recent
Ratchet and Clank have a collection coming out
    LBP has Karting
rumor is inFamous is coming to Vita
Lara Croft had a big showing at E3

so that’s 4-5 examples that argue these free games are designed to spur future game sales rather than retroactive game sales.

The industry loves sequels. That’s why Killzone 2 was a big deal. Noone played Killzone 1. Most people had never heard of it but by putting a 2 at the end that gives the consumer confidence that this isn’t something wacky that you may not like. The consumer says “hey enough people liked the first one.. maybe I’ll like this one too”. The industry LIVES off that model.

  • tedrabear

I guess you make a fare point, though I would like to correct you in the fact that ‘I’ was a one that played the first Killzone and was blown away by the game! I feel kind of bad now that I havn’t played the second one yet… If you’re listening PSNMasters, *wink, wink* heh?

  • Jay

I got to be a beta tester for Killzone 1. Back when you had to wait for UPS to send you your beta disc lol. I remember when the PlayStation Media tried to make it out to be a Halo killer, but it was only similar in the fact that it was an FPS that took place in a location outside of Earth.

My personal opinion was that Killzone was the better game, anyway. I enjoyed it a lot more, as it was a lot grittier and the weapons were more, well, realistic. The only one I hated was the damn sniper rifle.

But yeah, Just Cause and the original Saints Row were both 360 titles, so there wouldn’t be a chance to see either of those on PSN anyway. R&C:A4O isn’t exactly a sequel as it is a different game altogether, much like Indiana Jones Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. I think the only ones that would take on your previous argument would be LBP2 and InFamous 2, but the only draw to LBP1 would be its story mode, since all created levels work on LBP2 as well.

Anyway, I know that bit was already settled, just wanted to get my 2 cents in there haha
