I got to be a beta tester for Killzone 1. Back when you had to wait for UPS to send you your beta disc lol. I remember when the PlayStation Media tried to make it out to be a Halo killer, but it was only similar in the fact that it was an FPS that took place in a location outside of Earth.

My personal opinion was that Killzone was the better game, anyway. I enjoyed it a lot more, as it was a lot grittier and the weapons were more, well, realistic. The only one I hated was the damn sniper rifle.

But yeah, Just Cause and the original Saints Row were both 360 titles, so there wouldn't be a chance to see either of those on PSN anyway. R&C:A4O isn't exactly a sequel as it is a different game altogether, much like <s>Indiana Jones</s> Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. I think the only ones that would take on your previous argument would be LBP2 and InFamous 2, but the only draw to LBP1 would be its story mode, since all created levels work on LBP2 as well.

Anyway, I know that bit was already settled, just wanted to get my 2 cents in there haha

I guess you make a fare point, though I would like to correct you in the fact that 'I' was a one that played the first Killzone and was blown away by the game! I feel kind of bad now that I havn't played the second one yet... If you're listening PSNMasters, *wink, wink* heh?

<a href='http://www.ps3blog.net/members/tedrabear/' rel="nofollow">@tedrabear</a>

it's possible. and Truthfully it actually works better forwards than backwards

Saint's Row has a third game that's fairly recent
Ratchet and Clank have a collection coming out
LBP has Karting
rumor is inFamous is coming to Vita
Lara Croft had a big showing at E3

so that's 4-5 examples that argue these free games are designed to spur future game sales rather than retroactive game sales.

The industry loves sequels. That's why Killzone 2 was a big deal. Noone played Killzone 1. Most people had never heard of it but by putting a 2 at the end that gives the consumer confidence that this isn't something wacky that you may not like. The consumer says "hey enough people liked the first one.. maybe I'll like this one too". The industry LIVES off that model.

Perhaps I am overly suspicious then, it always seem to me like companies are less woried about sequils than originals. though now I think back the only reason I have Infamous is because of Sony's big appology after 'the incident'. I'm not ungrateful though, don't get me wrong, in fact I see so many 'You owe us the world Sony, you b*stards' forums that I was wondering if this might shut a few people up?

you raise an interesting point on the sequels <a href='http://www.ps3blog.net/members/tedrabear/' rel="nofollow">@tedrabear</a> but I'm not sure I buy it yet

Virtua Fighter 5 doesn't really drive you to earlier games.. it's a H2H fighter.
infamous and LBP were both on HUGE sales earlier. I got LBP from the Blackout.

Saint's Row was never on PS3 if I recall same as Just Cause

HC:U, Choplifter, ZA:NDA, and Sideway don't really have previous iterations

R&CF 1 wasn't in the store and neither was the 2nd if I recall. Quest for Booty was but again that was gifted after the Blackout.

I honestly don't know about Lara Croft but that's one game the rest Sony actually has good reason to expect we already have or are unable to get.
