PS3BlogCast Episode 51

Welcome back everyone it’s been a while. We took last week off due to E3 and FooBear’s trip to said event, but the duo is back at it recapping what took place as well as news and releases this week. We are closely approaching a years worth of podcasts, next week!

I did the secret word a little different this episode since we forgot to do one once we finished, so I just stuck it in randomly in the podcast. Keep your ears out for it because it won’t have a lead up at the end like it normally does!

Sony not focusing on Vita during E3 2012 just goes to prove how little they believe in the platform. You just LAUNCHED the portable and you don’t make it the cornerstone of your showcase?

They are actually focusing on Vita + Console connectivity. Jack Tretton said it himself in an interview.

@PAUL FIERCE: And yet, Vita was almost a no show at the conference that was being watched by millions…

it’s like you actually play games the way you talked about WatchDogs. everyone and their mother was going nuts over it but honestly we haven’t really seen anything. It looks pretty sure but in terms of how it will play? We don’t know. This is no better than when they advertised FFVII with cut scenes.

@Wolfkin exactly! People can be excited about a new IP, sure, but we should also wait to see how it turns out. They’ve said many times that there is ‘so much more’ they need to show but who knows. Your cut scene analogy is great, it’s like when they do a CG trailer for a game. Sure it’s good to show what it is you’re trying to do, but it won’t always represent the final product. That is something I wish the industry would pull away from a little. Sure they’re nice to look at but I would rather see the same trailer using the game engine.

I will admit that I myself got excited about Watch Dogs. The reason that I’m excited about it is because it instantly reminded me a little of Deus Ex. I know I will be disappointed holding it to that standard, but I can’t help where my mind jumps to.

that’ll teach me to play Farm Frenzy 2 while listening and not check the notes before hand. I clearly missed it the first time around.

@Oly you got free lunch from all of them? XD Nice! Disappointing Vita games huh? Damn =/ I was hoping there would be some good ones. AC3 Liberation wasn’t playable was it?
