    Milla Jovovich loved playing the Resident Evil games… Didn’t make them good movies…

    I don’t know if I’m breaking any rules, but this is the web site for Slender: http://www.slendergame.com/index.php?page=game
    Personaly I’m not going to play it, it sounds so cool, but I couldn’t even play silent hill on my own…

    on the contrary @tedrabear the first RE movie was a very decent adaptation of the RE franchise. The subsequent movies are all again solidly decent but terrible adaptation. RE4.. i twas Outbreak right? the 3D one with Ashanti? At this point it’s almost nothing like RE the game franchise but the movies are still very entertaining. I think it’s a bold step for the films creative team. They could keep trying to stick to the games and it very likely would have been utter garbage. or they could do what they did.. make character flashcards and ignore the rest of the game.

    I like the RE movies but they aren’t like the games (other than having some of the characters along for the ride). The last one in 3D was a great popcorn movie.

    I say stick to the source material, as it was that material that made the games popular in the first place. If you’re going to change and break away from the source material, then it should be titled differently. It could, however, maybe exist in the same universe, but if you’re going to involve a number of characters from a game into the movie, you’ll want to make it at least fit in with the actual game(s), story line, etc. somewhere.

    @tedrabear no rules broken!

    @eden I enjoy them as well as just fun movies to watch despite their ridiculousness. Though I really enjoyed the scene-4-scene fight with Wesker in the last film which they got from RE5.

    @jay I would agree with that, especially with a contained universe with one primary lead (say Uncharted) though as you mentioned Ubisoft could just keep it in the overall universe. If you think about what they’re doing with AC3:Liberation they could just do something like that. This would also give them the ability to make it canon to the universe which would be awesome.

    Psh! I agree the first movie was good, I really enjoyed it, but then it was a new story about a new character in a new place (I don’t know if the mansion was supposed to be the same as the first one). But when they started introducing the other characters as ‘tag along characters’ and giving Alice all the best parts from the game. Like having her perform Claires bit from Resident Evil Code Veronica (running away from the chopper etcetera) and of course ‘she’ can shoot Wesker when nobody else can. It would have been like when they made the Harry potter movies if they had introduced a new kid and had the three main characters (one per movie) tag a long to lend the new guy a hand as he defeated Lord Voldermort… Boils my Sweed…
