The second DLC from Skyrim’s studio Bathesda is now official. The new add-on “Hearthfire” will enable players to build their own homes and raise children.
From a simple one-room cottage to a sprawling compound complete with armory, alchemy laboratory, and more, Bethesda said of the DLC. Choose your land, customize your house, guard it from unwanted visitors, and turn your house into a home by adopting children.
The new DLC, which has no release date, will be available first on Xbox 360 for 400 Microsoft Points. Release on other systems is yet to be announced. In the mean time, there is no news on Skyrim’s first DLC, Downguard, for the PS3.

This is so not what I was expecting from Skyrim DLC, but I want it! I never did really like the vanilla homes in Skyrim.
Damn it, I hate Bethesda so much right now.

I like the idea of making modding (still more!) accessible to the public, but I didn’t get the sense from the video that the home construction process is particularly depthful. And raising a child? Well, I guess Bethesda knows its target audience better than I do…?

Raising a child in Skyrim is… questionable. How can you even consider the possibility if the first time you yell at “it” the lil’ bastard may go flying around Tamriel lol

Sometimes, games are the only way for nerds to have a family.
