Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes World Premier Gameplay Video

Watch 10 minutes of Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes’ Demo shown during the Metal Gear Solid 25th anniversary panel at PAX Prime.

“We’re not going to say that it’s Metal Gear Solid 5,” Kojima said after the demo, “but it is a prologue.” Kojima also confirmed that the demo was running on PC hardware that was similarly equipped to PS3, and that the final game should closely resemble the demo video.
Kojima also confirmed that he is personally creating Ground Zeroes.

Damn, you can control vehicles, too?! Does that mean maybe you can control metal gears again? I thought that was pretty cool in MGS4.

Man, I really cannot wait for this one. MGR just didn’t have the draw this one has for me. Heck, I even started playing Peace Walker haha

I am a huge MGS fan. Its probably my favorite franchise of all time. But at the end after the credits when I saw XBOX LIVE and then PS3, my heart sank. I was really looking forward to a PS3 exclusive from these guys. After the way they stabbed Sony in the Back at E3 when they introed MGR at Microsoft, I was like hopefully they make it up to us. But nope. Nothing yet. Hopefully MGS5 will come out on PS4 and only PS4 in the future.

Very excited about this. Love Big Boss. I also feel that doing a game about him gives Kojima more creative freedom without messing up any of the established canon from the other games. I’m curious though if David Hayter (and I’m sure the internet already knows) will voice him this time around. If you think about it *SPOILER!!!!!* Big Boss was voiced by someone else in MGS4, and so was Solidus in 2. And Solidus was the perfect clone of Big Boss. So will they have him or the guy who voiced BB in 4? I have a feeling for fans sake they’ll keep Hayter, but who knows. Was the Japanese voice actor in the trailer the same one as all of other games?

@pedrolabate Yes we can mate, yes we can. @xDefcon_2FasT4Ux The only thing I will miss in this none exclusive title is the PlayStation remarks they made in MGS4. Change to disk 2 Snake, oh wait the PS3 has Blueray lol classic. I am a little concerned about the this vehicles features and how it will effect the entire concept of stealth in which the series was established on. Honestly though, when “Here’s to You” was playing in the background you can’t help but smile, this is a classic in the making.

I’d say not long after Peace Walker, since, apparently, the boy in the trailer is Chico (if you listen to the guy translating during the interview), but that wouldn’t explain the number of years added to Snake/Big Boss, as that is still obviously a kid. I think it was a slip, honestly.

The boy could very well be Solid Snake, who was supposed to be born in 1972. Apparently, his gun is an FN FNC, which didn’t go into production until 1979. If it even takes place in 1979, Chico would be 17, and that kid in the cage is obviously way younger than that. I say Ground Zeroes can be placed somewhere in the early 80s, given the “assuming the boy is Solid Snake” theory.

EDIT: I think it’s possible that Konami changed his name for the trailer, in an effort to not give away the true plot.

Wow awesome gameplay trailer. I guess I really need to play MGS4 and actually finish it this time. :P

@jay that’s what I expect. Snake should be that kid, brought up as a prisoner in a military camp, saved by Big Boss and trained to be the perfect whateverheis ;p

But I’m known for getting my MGS facts very confused hehe

Maybe it was just me but seeing a jailed child immediately made me think that the plot might have something to do with Les Enfants Terribles.

I say it’s a stupid ass move by Konami to announce this game. Now it totally undermines MGR. I have a feeling they will show more at VGA because Kojima seems to be gravitating towards the western audience now. As a whole, the industry is struggling. Specially Japan. It is wise to outsource in a way by expanding multiplatform. Something I would do if I was in their shoes. You gotta understand that the industry is not the same as it was before. Japan is no longer the giant that once controlled the game in industry. The only thing left to do is for them go where the money is, here in the west.

I support them now matter what. But the announcement of GZ is really bad timing in my eyes. They should’ve teased something like, “GZ trailer with MGR disc on release” Now no one is talking or thinking about MGR. I love the game. At pax I played the hell out of it in the Konami hospitality suite. There is a certain addiction to cutting shit to bits.

I really hope MGR does well as far as sales. I know a lot of you are still skeptical, but ones that demo comes out with ZOE, you guys won’t be disappointed. Oh yeah and a little bird at PAX told me that the Gamescom and PAX demo wont be the demo that will come with ZOE. it will be totally new. :)

It will Paul. Platinum Games have a solid fan base in the west and back in Japan. The reviews will also help and I am guessing this one will surprise a lot of people.
