Fuse from Insomniac Coming our Way in March

Insomniac Games just announced their new IP “Fuse”, which was formerly known as Overstrike, will launch in March 2013. Fuse is a third person, four-player co-op game. You will play as a member of Overstrike 9, which has been hired to stop a terrorist group.

Check out the screen shots, and then hit the jump for more info!

You can play with up to three of your friends, and each has its own signature Fuse-powered weapon. Play as Dalton Brooks, an ex-mercenary who has a Mag-shield that acts as portable cover and unleashes a devastating blast that liquefies opponents. Take on the role of Naya Deveraux, who can cloak to flank enemies and fire out mini-black holes that implode its victims. As Jacob Kimble, you can keep enemies at a distance with the Arc Shot and shoot out charged bolts that chain react and fry enemies. Then there’s Izzy Sinclair, who can either launch out med beacons to heal teammates or fire her Shatter Gun to crystallizes and explode nearby threats. If you’re not sure who you want to play, you can use the LEAP feature to instantly switch to any available character. A good tactic when you’re in a pinch!

As you take down targets with both Fuse and conventional weapons, you’ll earn valuable points than can be used to upgrade your weapons and character abilities. You’ll earn more points on executing cooperative kills and these points and upgrades are beneficial across both campaign and another mode we’ll be revealing at a later time.

I liked Resistance and usually prefer 3rd person shooters over FPS, but this doesn’t look particularly different from all the other generic ones out there…

Wasn’t particularly fond of Resistance 3. I was excited back then. Once the campaign was over I felt a sense of relief. Nothing about that game was memorable. I can’t even remember how to story ended. Shame. Insomniac are such a talented group of developers, or possibly I was just expecting more.

Resistance 1 & 2 were amazing. Resistance 3 was THE BIGGEST LET DOWN FOR ME EVER. I give the game a 3/10. 2 points for it a being a resistance title. I felt it was COD with a resistance theme. Thats it. 3yrs in development and the only thing they got right were the graphics. The gameplay and story was just terrible and dont get me started on the online. Never played Rachet and Clank except for all 4one. Didnt like it too childish. This looks like step up from Overstrike which this was suppose to be. Since this is a new title, it may be good. Or just turn out to be a eh game. Lets wait and see. Insomniac lost my respect when they butchered and false advertised R3.
