Skylanders Giants Trailer and Release Date Announced

I saw the Skylanders Giants, behind closed doors demo at E3, and I was pretty impressed. I really enjoyed the first game, and played it quite a bit with my kids. This one builds upon the fundamentals of the Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure, “merging the physical and virtual realms with an innovative line of cross-platform toys with “brains,” which players everywhere can magically bring to life in the world of Skylands.” I am looking forward to incorporating the giants, and playing all new adventures starting October 21st, when Skylanders Giants is released.

Using the mystical Portal of Power, players once again lead a team of heroic Skylanders in a new adventure to save their world. Portal Masters will journey through new areas of Skylands, encountering new enemies, solving fun puzzles, overcoming different hazards and obstacles, and finding a variety of collectable rewards and treasure. Skylanders Giants introduces sixteen new characters to build on the magic of Skylanders Spyro’s Adventures, including super-sized giants with powers to match, as well as the new LightCore™ Skylanders that light-up in the game and in the real-world as players transport them to Skylands using the Portal of Power. Additionally, the game features new Hero Challenges, more Battle Mode gameplay, and advanced integration across console, handheld, mobile and Skylanders Universe. Skylanders Giants is in development by Toys for Bob for Wii™, Nintendo 3DS™, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system, Windows PC and mobile devices and will hit retail shelves on October 21st.

The game is good and all, but I’m just glad this… for lack of a better word, “gimmick” hasn’t died. I miss the days back in NES and older consoles, constantly having lil games that required something unique to them… like rockin a Power Glove. :P Besides musical and shooter games, we hardly see tangible factors to games anymore, so I hope this lil money vacuum keeps up the awesome, so we can see more crazy ideas come to our game shelves besides discs. :D I may be broke as dirt, but I loves me some gimmicks. lmao

word on the street @pedrolabate is that the games are actually good. I refused to play it like I refused to play WoW. I know myself. I can’t afford to get hooked.

This is what I always thought Pokemon should be. Nintendo must be going nuts because they couldn’t develop this before lol
