Today, Replay Events, the organisers of Play Expo 2012 announces that games publisher, EA will showcase three of its highly anticipated 2012 titles at the event on 13th and 14th October.
Attendees at the UK’s newest games expo will be able to play Medal of Honor: Warfighter, 13 days before its release and Need for Speed: Most Wanted, 20 days before – alongside the latest version of perennial fan favourite, EA SPORTS FIFA 13.
Andy Brown, commercial director at Replay Events, says the deal with EA has already excited the Play Expo team.
“We’re thrilled that EA is attending the inaugural Play Expo – to get both MOH and NFS before they’ve been released has exceeded our expectations and we know that fans will be queuing up to play them. We have lots more announcements to come in the run-up to the event with definitely something for everyone.”
The 2012 expo will feature four distinct events: re.play, now.play, pro.play and cos.play. Play Expo is one of the first places in the UK you can preview the new Wii-U console and try out New Super Mario Bros U, Nintendo Land and Ubisoft’s ZombiU before they hit the shops.
The familiar re.play event will feature freeplay arcade & pinball machines, retro consoles and vintage computers. now.play will have a large emphasis on the preview of Christmas gaming, hardware and accessory releases for the latest consoles and PC. pro.play is an eSports event featuring [big-money!] competitive gaming tournaments, whilst cos.play will include costume competitions, masquerades, talks, DDR and other cool features.
If you’re based in the UK, as I am, the inaugural Play Expo 2012 will be held in EventCity, Manchester from October 13th – 14th. Tickets, which cost from only £8.80 per day, can be bought at www.playexpo.net.
