Happy New Year – PSN Store Update |

Well happy new year from the folks over at playstation. They’ve delivered unto us a brand new game for free Jetpack Joyride. A game that takes the genre made popular with Canabalt and refines it with even more complication than Orbit. The package as a whole is a not-so-surprisingly fun game. A giant recommendation from me.

Also of Note:
Amy a game with a genuinely interesting concept that failed to perform. has dropped from $9.99 to $3.99

I’ve been interested to see if Amy turned out quite as bad as I’ve heard and for $4 it seems like a worthy price to try. Those are some great prices for inFamous 2 and Festival of BLood (which is a fantastic little in-between game I highly recommend). Arkham City would be a steal if it included the DLC, but as far as I can tell it doesn’t. So it’s merely a great price for an awesome game. Tokyo Jungle is probably the game on the list that you forgot to buy and now that it’s pretty much half off for Plus members, it’s time to buy. All in all much better than week 1 of the winter sale. Probably a touch better than week 2 as Hobbes indicated.

  • Tokyo Jungle for half the price ? Wow ! This seems like a pretty unique experience. I think I’ll buy this game before it goes back to full price.

  • jetpack is a very fun game played the EU Download for hours, don’t think we see in in the US store till this week, maybe up today actually?

  • I’ve been playing it since Tuesday and my account is US. I had no idea what it was and honestly I could have used an instruction screen (ala “Help and Options” that you see in like Pac-Man CE or Scott Pilgrim etc) but even so it’s easy to pick up (being one button game) and it’s a load of fun.

  • I want to try Chronovolt. Hope it’s a better sequel than Chronocross.

  • Jetpack Joyride is a fun game, i’ve had it on my phone for a while, haven’t had time to play it in a while though

  • nba jam isnt too bad but the rest or it pretty much meh

  • Isn’t EA shutting down the NBA jam servers or is that just the retail copy of the games?

  • @Hestar: Think they’re shutting down the NBA Jam servers for the retail copy.

I’m almost going to NOT buy a PS3 game in the next 6 months. A Collector’s Edition of Ni No Kuni or Bioshock Infinite COULD be the exception, but I’ll focus in the next months on working on my backlog.

  • Interesting Freebie game if the servers are going down. You can still play just not online.

  • wha? first off retail/disc shouldn’t make a difference if it’s the same game right?

  • That’s what I am thinking. I think the online servers will be shut down. In some ways i hate how EA does that, in others if it’s taking such a low % of their use I understand why.
