PSN Store Update: PS+ and SEVERAL Games on Sale

PS+ Update for January

First PSN Store update of the new year. A pretty nice update with something for everyone. Pre-Order junkies can get Dead Space 3 for $60. Digitial distribution die hards will be glad to see Demon’s Souls and LotR: War in the North for $20 each. WitN looks rather compelling to me if I ever had anyone to co-op with. The Sony die hards who actually OWN a PS Vita can look forward to EDF 2017 for $40.

We also have some lackluster Sega bundles, and someone managed to work out a deal with Nick Jr to get their PS2 line-up available for download. Hard to tell who exactly the market is for the digital version of Dora the Explorer: Dora Saves the Snow Princess. That’s two gigs of HDD space for a game targeted at the pre-preteen market. You have to figure kids nowadays dosn’t want to play PS2 games, and anyone that die hard about Dora could probably get the physical copy just as easily. But hey, what do I know… I don’t have kids.

Mega Man 9 and 10 drop in for the PSN Plus crowd. I myself have played 9 up to the Wiley Stage and it’s been a long but satisfying journey. It will be interesting to start it over on the PS3. There’s some GoW beta thrown in there. Also, Eufloria is on sale for $2.50 – a visually impressive game with an absolutely wonderful contrast. I can promise you this: You will never have any difficulty reading the text on the screen of Eufloria. You could put that game on a 13 inch SDTV and you could still tell what was going on.

We have a few price drops as well, but the really impressive aspect of today’s update are the sales. Quite a handful of games are on sale for $1. The most expensive being Dungeon Hunter: Alliance ($12 off). aND be sure to pick up Earthworm Jim HD since it is a very fun game and at $1 you can’t go wrong. Hero of Sparta (PS Mini), and Uno interest me as well, so I might add those to my collection.

  • Blokus ‘Move’ – PS3 Game (now: $0.99 original price: $4.99)
  • Brain Challenge – PS3 Game (now: $0.99 original price: $4.99)
  • Brain Challenge – PSP Game (now: $0.99 original price: $4.99)
  • BreakQuest – PS Mini (now: $0.99 original price: $1.49)
  • Dungeon Hunter: Alliance – PS3 Game (now: $0.99 original price: $12.99)
  • Earthworm Jim HD – PS3 Game (now: $0.99 original price: $9.99)
  • Eufloria – PS3 Game (now: $4.99 original price: $9.99)

  • Jane’s Hotel – PS Mini (now: $0.99 original price: $1.99)
  • Let’s Golf – PS Mini (now: $0.99 original price: $4.99)
  • Modern Combat: Domination – PS3 Game (now: $0.99 original price: $7.99)
  • N.O.V.A. – PS Mini (now: $0.99 original price: $4.99)
  • Normaltanks – PS Mini (now: $0.99 original price: $1.49)
  • Planets Under Attack – PS3 Game (now: $9.99 original price: $14.99)
  • Tank Battles – PS3 Game (now: $0.99 original price: $4.99)
  • TV Show King – PS3 Game (now: $0.99 original price: $4.99)
  • UNO – PS3 Game (now: $0.99 original price: $4.99)

So what’s got your attention this week? Are the combo of Mega Man and Dark Souls too difficult? Is LotR still relevant? Do you recognize ANY of the $1 games?

Hardly anything noteworthy in my opinion… Eufloria is great though…

Lots of fun to choose from in that list of $0.99 games on sale. Own all of them, except for Blokus and N.O.V.A.

I own most of the better games in the $1 sale Dungeon Hunter, Eufloria, Earthworm Jim.

I can’t remember if Hero of Sparta sounded interesting or not. What I’m curious about is TV Show King it sounds like a title that could be a good game or a really terrible game.

How about Uno I remember Uno being really big on XBL is it any fun on PSN? Is it something we could play for like Gamenight or something?

I didn’t have such a huge backlog I’d probably by a bunch of these. I mean 99cents COME ON. But since I have to much crap to finish I’ll probably just pick up Earthworm Jim an d

couldn’t download mega man last nite. tried on a few occasions, and got an error saying that the download was unavailable at this time. odd. all my other psn+ stuff was working fine.

@premiersoupir are you trying to download the bundle? if so try to download them individual instead

@Kane112: thanks, that might have been the problem. I’ll give it another go later!

@premiersoupir: That will indeed be the problem. Can’t download a bundle if you already own one piece from it.
