PS3BlogCast Episode 79 – Plus Giveaway!

Welcome to another episode of the podcast. It’s the last one of the month and you know what that means? It’s the giveaway podcast! So tune in to see if you’re the lucky winner!

Isli is out this week, unfortunately, though you’ll still have plenty of fun with MissXya and I. We get into the week that was all about a lesson in bad embargoes and how leaks are so damn annoying these days.

AC IV this year is interesting because it will basically release on everything. PC, PS3, 360, Wii U, PS4 and 720 versions in the works.

@eden I’m curious if it will be a staggered release, like the Wii U. I’m hoping it’s not, because I’d love to buy it on PS4.

@Clint: Well, developing that many SKU in a year… unless Ubi has ALL of their studios working on AC IV, I don’t think that’s going to happen. PS4 in December MIGHT be doable, but I don’t know if the port will be hurt by such a short dev cycle.

@eden or perhaps it will come out on next-gen when the PC version is released. Since games can be built on the PC and easily ported to PS4 and the PC versions of AC games always come out later. I just hope it’s not a long wait, otherwise I’ll just get it on PS3 if I don’t have much to play. But since Beyond Two Souls comes out in October perhaps that can hold me over.

Or even just wait to see the differences between the PS3/PS4 versions.

    I see Wii U, PS3 and 360 versions released this year and PS4, 720 and PC in Q1 2014.

Don’t quote me on this, but I believe Ubi said they would be developing the next-gen versions first, then porting…

It looks like i won’t be buying another AC Game…

  14. #14 by EdEN on March 4th, 2013 [ 131361 Points ]

@IslI: It would be interesting to see a link to that. Probably PC is the lead platform and downporting to everything else.
