[PS3 Review] The Wolf Among Us: A Crooked Mile

A Crooked Mile Header - D

After discovering damning evidence at a bloody crime scene, Bigby is just steps behind the prime suspect of a horrific murder, but he’s not the only one other forces in Fabletown will stop at nothing to protect their interests. Every decision matters and time is ticking in this thrilling third episode of The Wolf Among Us.

Are you ready for more Fables?

After finding out at the end of episode 2 who’s responsible for everything that has been going on in Fabletown, Bigby rushes to try and find Snow before it is too late. Once he realizes she has not been harmed, he must decide if he should tell Snow what he knows, or if he should keep quiet for a little longer.

Very early in A Crooked Mile, you will start to see some of the repercussions from your choices from the first couple of episodes. Some of the fables will start to trust Bigby (if you’ve been playing that way), or they might not want to cooperate during this investigation (if you’ve been making good on the “Big Bad Wolf” name).

A Crooked Mile 1

By the end of Episode 3 (which, as is the case for most episodes, is a short experience), you’ll realize there is more at stake, and that there is someone else pulling the strings of this whole situation.

A Crooked Mile 2

The Wolf Among Us: A Crooked Mile keeps you busy during your short time together, but it is one hell of a ride. Will Bigby be able to find a solution to this problem? What will happen to Crane, Snow, and the rest of the Fables? Will Bigby be strong enough to tame the beast inside?

I actually don’t think the episodes are all that short. I did not pay full price for these episodes (got the season pass when it was on sale for $13) but I still feel you get a good chunk of story for each episode. My and my friend played these episodes only together. She was there when I first booted it up, and we both got locked in the story, so I didn’t play 2 until she was with me, and same with 3….sorry to say that she is now living somewhere else, kind of far away for a year….so it looks like I won’t be playing 4 and 5 for awhile. Oh well, at least when she gets back, we will be able to play them back to back. There is only one problem I have had with the story so far in this game, and that’s how they used “Snow’s death” as a huge shocker at the end of the 1st episode, but come the 2nd episode and oh..turns out she wasn’t dead…making the huge shock feel hallow and hurting the experience.

The episodes are just the right length (at least for me) since I can play them in a day or two at most.
