Ubisoft has just announced that there WILL be a new Assassin’s Creed game on PS3 this year, and it will release on November 11! Assassin’s Creed Rogue is a different game from Assassin’s Creed Unity, and it features a new storyline and protagonist… with a twist.
How big is Assassin’s Creed Rogue? Well, Ubisoft Sofia is taking lead on developing the game, along with Ubisoft’s studios at Singapore, Montreal, Quebec, Chengdu, Milan and Bucharest. That’s definitely a lot of studios working on a single game!
The game is set at the 18th century (right in the middle of it to be precise) for the Seven Years War and is set in North America. But, what is the twist? Well, this time will be that we get to play as a Templar instead of an assassin! Shay Patrick Cormac, a former assassin, is betrayed by the brotherhood and decides to become an Assassin hunter to let the brotherhood know first-hand what a huge mistake they’ve made.
Martin Capel, game director at Ubisoft Sofia, had this to say:
“We know that there are many Assassin’s Creed fans with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles who want to get their hands on a new Assassin’s Creed game this year. Assassin’s Creed Rogue completes the North American saga started with Assassin’s Creed® III and Assassin’s Creed® IV Black Flag™ and gives previous-generation console owners an exclusive opportunity to experience fan-requested features, such as playing as a Templar.”
