With Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number coming out this week, I figured it was time to revisit one of my favorite games and my very first review… Hotline Miami!
If you are unfamiliar with the game it is an overhead brutal murder/puzzle game. Sounds odd but it works. The art style of the game looks like a cross between what the Nintendo and Super Nintendo could do. Since the game takes place in 1989, it gives it that extra authentic feel. With solid gameplay and a funky art style, it’s extra surprising that the real star of this show is the music. The music in Hotline Miami has an excellent feel for late 80’s electronica. You need to be wearing a pair of headphones when playing.

As I said earlier, this is the first review I ever did. It’s odd to go back and look at it, as I am picking it apart by the standards of how I would do a review now. This did however start my journey to being a reviewer for the site, and It was all because of my excitement from playing this game and needing a forum to talk about it.
If reviewing games is something you want to do, start by reviewing the games you already have. It will give you some major experience that will open doors for you down the line.
