About
Below you’ll find some information about the writers here at PS3Blog.net. But first I thought I’d point out the PS3Blog.net online store. There you’ll find links to games and movies that you like, that you can buy at Amazon. Doing so will support this site, and help us make it better. We have to pay for hosting, domain names, and even the little icons of ourselves you see below. Buying games and movies (and other stuff - I’m open to suggestions) will help support this site, and I’d appreciate it, thanks!
Thanks for reading, we do this for you! We want your participation, however, so please comment on articles, vote for them, use the shoutbox, tell your friends, and don’t forget the store!
Anyway, on to the good stuff. Our bios!
Henning, the administrator and co-writer of PS3Blog.net:
Hey there! Welcome to our PS3 corner of the universe. I am the creator and primary contributor to PS3Blog.net, but without the other writers here, PS3Blog.net would be a lot more boring! They have a lot of expertise I don’t have, so PS3Blog.net benefits from their experience immensely. But enough about them (you can read more below), what about me!?! I am a software developer, but that’s my day job. When I’m not at work, or at home enjoying my family, I also enjoy my hobbies which include video games, board games, HDTV, science fiction, and other stuff too.
I was one of the first people I know to get a PS2. (I had to hunt for a PS2 all over town near launch, finally finding one at a Zellers.) It still works perfectly to this day, and I haven’t had a single problem with it. I usually don’t play single player games, but I do a lot of multiplayer gaming with my friends. Now I’m one of the first people in the world to have bought a PS3, and that’s what this blog is all about. But every so often I talk about the Xbox 360 or the Wii as well, just because sometimes there’s interesting news there or they’re doing cool stuff that I wish the PS3 would do too.
Gary, co-writer on PS3Blog.net:
Hi my name is Gary and my main focus is on the games that are in development for the PS3 but I also like to keep up to date with PS3 news in general. I live in the North East of England (near Newcastle) and have been gaming since I was about 6 years old when I was given the Commodore 64 for my birthday. My main interest outside of gaming is Martial Arts; training, reading and movies.
I bought my PS3 not long after it’s release in the UK (March 23rd 2007) and currently have Resistance: Fall of Man, Oblivion, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Super Stardust HD, Blast Factor, Warhawk and Calling All Cars.
I’m currently looking forward to PES 2008, Haze, GTA IV, DMC4, FFXIII, MGS4, Killzone 2, Mercs 2 and LittleBigPlanet, amongst a load of other games due for release this year and next year.
Tosh, co-writer on PS3Blog.net:
Hello, this is Tosh Hatch. I’m a Webmaster at a credit union. I enjoy racing my Mazda Rx-7’s in Autocross events. I have been studying American Kenpo since 1997 and have achieved a 4th Degree Black Belt, and I still study it diligently. My instructor is Ron Boswell 7th Degree Black Belt. I own a 20” Intel iMac. Also I’ve lived in Japan for 2 years from about 83 - 85.
My first gaming console was a Sega Genesis. I’ve owned all the Playstation products since launch (PS1, PS2, PSP, PS3). I really enjoy my PLAYSTATION 3 and PSP. My favorite game genres are action/adventure, FPS games, racing, fighting & RPG. Some of my all time favorite series are Tekken, Metal Gear Solid, Burnout, Final Fantasy.
Darrin, co-writer on PS3Blog.net:
Henning says: One day I’ll get Darrin to write himself a little auto-biography to put here, but I’m not sure how likely that is to ever happen! Not much is known about Darrin. Except that his name may in fact be… something else! I’m pretty sure he likes playing video games, otherwise why would he want to write for PS3Blog.net? Darrin - do you have anything else to add?
Darrin? Hello?
Gary says: I think I just saw something move over by the trees! Darrin?
Tom, co-writer on PS3Blog.net:
Hi, I’m Tom. I’m avid gamer and a bit of gadget fan. I like to delve into the possibilities of what new hardware presents to us, and generally whether it’s worth upgrading to certain things. I’ve been a PlayStation gamer since the late 1990s, but that isn’t to say I don’t enjoy a dabble on other consoles! I’m a big fan of racing titles with particular favourites being Gran Turismo, Formula One games, the Ridge Racer series and Wipeout titles. I also enjoy some extreme sports titles (SSX3, Tony Hawk’s 1-4) and the odd FPS (4-player Halo 2 on the xbox and I’m the sticky grenade king, much to my friends’ annoyance). I’m eagerly anticipating the release of the PS3, even if us Europeans are stuck waiting until March!
Like Gary, I too am British, but I live just outside of London. I’m currently actively hunting out opportunities to break into the business world of public relations (tech based public relations specifically), so I hope regularly writing here will improve my style!
