PS4BlogCast Episode 257

August 3, 2017 |

It’s a late episode, and I apologize for that. A few software issues got in the way, but that has all been ironed out so it shouldn’t be an issue going forward.

This week we get into the announced DLC for Wolfenstein, Dying Light getting a year of DLC support, and of course we dip back into the Final Fantasy well once again.

Enjoy!

PS4BlogCast Episode 256

Well SDCC has come and gone with not too much news on the gaming front, though Telltale did announce a bunch of release dates and windows for their upcoming games. The Destiny 2 beta was also over the same period and Isli gives us his overall impressions.

Xya talks about her overall feelings for the Stormblood expansion for FFXIV, and then keeping with the Final Fantasy theme I give a wrap up to my thoughts on FFXV. We then shift over to FFXII where Isli and I basically just say how much we’re enjoying replaying the game, and the quality of life improvement that 4x speed is.

With SDCC wrapped up what was your favorite thing you saw? I tried to avoid the Westworld Season 2 teaser, but couldn’t help it. Though waiting until 2018 will be tough. But let us know what you liked the most in the comments below!

Well it’s the episode where I complain about how much I don’t like the combat in Final Fantasy 15. Now that’s not to say I don’t like the game as a whole, but it does impact my overall impressions. I also hadn’t finished the game during this recording, so we’ll have to wait until next week before I can talk about my overall thoughts.

I picked up FFXII as a sort of cleanser to XV, and I only ever played it through one time when it released so I’m looking forward to replaying it. Isli also picked it up so we’ll be able to get into it even more over the next few episodes.

What about you? Did you pick up FFXII? What about Crash? Let us know in the comments below!

With a light week of news, as per usual, this episode is basically all about the games we’ve been playing. Since Isli finally played both Wolfenstein and Horizon he’s giving Nier a go and enjoying it quite a bit. Xya also talks about how much she loved the recent FFXV DLC and the Stormblood expansion for 14, while I talk a bit about Darkest Dungeon.

Castlevania came out this past week on Netflix and it’s quite good. I’m curious if the fact that it’s an anime will mean it’ll take longer than a regular show to return for the second season.

What about you? Did you watch the anime? How do you think it went? Let us know in the comments below!

We’re going back in time a few years and talking about Wolfenstein: The New Order this episode. Isli finally played the game so we’re able to talk about it. He also finished Horizon Zero Dawn so we’ll be discussing that game as well. We don’t get too spoiler heavy with it, more just discussing the game mechanics and quest structures.

Enjoy!

E3 is almost here and with the confirmation that Sony will again be all about trailers, it sounds like it’ll be another good year for them. It’ll be interesting to see the difference between what Microsoft does this year around and if it will compare to Sony’s pure games approach. We won’t have to wait long of course since E3 will technically be kicking off on Sunday.

I’m hoping for some great announcements all around and can’t wait for Monday night. We’ll be recording immediately after the conference so we’ll have our reactions nice and fresh.

Enjoy!
