PS4BlogCast Episode 224

October 3, 2016 |

It’s almost here! The press and some online personalities have already received their PSVR hardware and are currently using it. Though we’ll have to wait for the embargo to go up before we get any impressions or reviews of the headset. I don’t have one preordered myself since I figured I’d wait a bit after launch. Not to mention with Mafia and Rise of the Tomb Raider coming out soon I’ll be preoccupied with those. Granted I’m curious how well the theater mode for the headset will look.

Ubisoft has talked about the new development philosophy they’re taking with Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry. I’m really hoping they’re able to release one of those franchises in 2017, preferably Assassin’s Creed. It’s really strange not having a new entry this year.

PSX was also announced for early December in Anaheim CA. While I’d like to go, I did just go on a vacation to Disneyland only two weeks back so I’m not sure about spending that money currently. Especially since I’ll be getting the PSVR and a Pro so I’d rather do that, though I will of course watch it streamed.

What about you? Are you going to PSX this year? Let us know in the comments below!

We’re back after a week off due to a birthday and family vacation. There wasn’t a whole lot that happened while we were gone, even though TGS was going on. We did get 15 minutes of gameplay for Metal Gear Survive, which just reinforced my opinion that it’d possibly be a fun coop game but bad Metal Gear game.

We also heard from Kojima about Deaths Stranding, though it’s going to be so far out I kind of wish he’d stay radio silent for a little while.

But what about you? See anything exciting at TGS? Let us know in the comments below!

Isli is busy at the police station so it’s just me and Xya this week. We go over the bit of news from PAX, discuss what we’ve been playing, and I also give my thoughts on Kingsglaive without going into any spoilers.

I just finished up Deus Ex and I’m going to start working on that platinum soon. I enjoyed that game a lot and hopefully next episode I’ll be able to talk more about it in a spoiler fashion.

The Battlefield 1 beta has been going on, and though I’m tempted to give it a few rounds I think I’m going to just wait until it comes out. It’s already a game I’m super interested in as it is. But what about you? Have you been playing the beta? Let us know in the comments below!

It’s the Inside spoilercast episode this week. Well not entirely, we do spend the first 39 minutes going over the small bits of news there was, though I did forget to put the secret word before the spoiler segment. To give you a hint it’s something that Isli is looking for during the podcast while he plays No Man’s Sky, so you’ll hear him complain about something and that’s the secret word.

RimWorld has continued to take over most of my game time and I keep trying to get away so I can put a nice big chunk into Deus Ex. I’m still just doing side stuff in the hub area so I’m not that far at all. Hopefully I’ll get more in by the next podcast that way I can give some better impressions on the game.

What about you? Playing Deus Ex? Did you agree with any of our thoughts on the world of Inside? If you had a different theory sound off in the comments below!

PS4BlogCast Episode 219

It’s another week and another podcast, though this time around we actually have some news thanks to Gamescom. We also got official word on FFXV getting delayed two months, which is unfortunate but there is plenty to hold me over until then. We also got the surprise announcement about a new entry in the Metal Gear franchise…though not quite what anyone expected.

Since Isli is here this week he gets to talk about his experience with No Mans Sky. Xya also tells some more of her experience playing the game, and then I talk about my adventures with RimWorld.

Deus Ex comes out on Tuesday and I can’t wait to play it! It’s getting really good reviews, which I expected, so I’m definitely looking forward to getting my hands on it. I’ve also avoided a LOT of the gameplay walkthroughs that they’ve done after the game was announced so I’ll be going in with fresh eyes.

What about you? Looking forward to Deus Ex? Let us know in the comments below!

We’re back after a week away though we are down an Isli. This episode is basically about three things: No Mans Sky, RimWorld, and both Final Fantasy MMOs. We don’t go into the No Mans Sky talk for quite as long as I expected, but that’s because Isli wasn’t here to talk about his impressions of it and Xya is the only other person who has played it for hours on end.

In the place of NMS I’ve been playing a game on Steam called RimWorld, which I’m having a fantastic time with. I’ll probably be playing it for quite a while, until of course the other two games I’m interested in come out this month. As for when I’ll get to NMS myself I’m not sure. I’ll have to wait until I’m in the mood to play that game since I know exactly what it has to offer and I’m just not feeling that currently.

But what about you? Have you been enjoying your time with No Mans Sky? Let us know in the comments below!

Welcome to a (delayed) episode of the podcast. This week is all about release dates, PSVR space requirements, and box art trivia. For the trivia we manage to go a few rounds and we put a time limit on it so we can get it moving along a little quicker. It also allows you to play along a little easier that way if you guess it you don’t have to wait 10 minutes for Isli or Xya to. However there are a few that are guessed rather quickly, so you won’t have much time on those.

We’re getting ever closer to No Man’s Sky, though there is a bunch of footage online apparently. I haven’t seen any of it myself since I’ll just wait for the game to officially come out.

There is also rumors that Inside will be released on the PS4 this month. This speculation comes after the trophies appeared online, which traditionally means a game is about to go live soon. I’m really interested in that game and have managed to avoid spoilers so I’ll be able to go into it nice and fresh.

What about you? Are you exited for either of those games? Did you do well during the trivia section? Let us know in the comments below!
