Blu-ray Releases For The Week Of Jan 30th

The last Transformers was ok. Honestly I think it needs a reboot with a new director. It needs to focus on the transformers themselves not around a this guy that whines all the time. I heard Drive was a good movie, I’ll have to rent that later. As I was browsing through the releases I noticed another of those bad shark horror movies. This time the shark has 2 heads! Pretty scary stuff I must say. Anything interest you this week?

Highlights for this week: Drive, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Transformers Limited Edition Collector’s Trilogy, Star Trek: The Next Generation – Next Level, In Time, The Thing (2011), To Kill a Mockingbird 50th Anniversary Edition, Shakespeare in Love, The Double, Dream House, Cold Mountain, The English Patient, The Piano, Adaptation, Into The Universe With Stephen Hawking, 2 Headed Shark Attack.

I heard from a friend that Real Steel has a funny Tekken reference. So I want to watch it at some point. Another classic movie from the 80′s is out this week called See No Evil, Hear No Evil featuring Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder. I actually watched this for the first time a month ago and it was hilarious. If you haven’t seen it before it’s worth a rent at least. Anything interest you this week?

Blu-ray Releases For The Week Of Jan 9th

I haven’t seen any of the movies this week. So I can’t really comment on any of them. But I saw that “The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption” is out this week and that just looks awful honestly. There is also a new Jackie Chan movie called 1911. From what I can tell from the reviews, he doesn’t play the primary role and there is very little fighting. This is more of a dramatic role for him. Anything interest you this week?

Highlights for this week: Boardwalk Empire: The Complete First Season, Moneyball, Killer Elite, What’s Your Number?, The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption, Higher Ground, 1911, Sinners And Saints, There Be Dragons, Never Been Kissed, Billy Elliot.

I actually went to the dollar movies with my wife to see Midnight in Paris over the weekend. It was a good movie, but not one that I would own personally. Futurama has returned to television again with Season 6. I liked the original series, but have yet to watch the new season. Is it any good? So, anything interest you this week?

Highlights for this week: Midnight in Paris, Warrior, Dolphin Tale, Glee: The Concert Movie, Colombiana, Time Machine 2011: Live in Cleveland, Futurama 6, Margin Call, Straw Dogs, Underworld Trilogy (Underworld / Underworld: Evolution / Underworld: Rise of the Lycans), Heaven’s Lost Property: Complete Series.

I was really excited when I heard about Rise of the Planet of the Apes. It did not disappoint either! I really enjoyed the movie, it was very well done. I just wish it lasted another 20-30 minutes after the movie ended. Another Ip man movie is out. I liked the first 2, so I’ll be waiting for this to come to Netflix eventually. It’s always good to see that another Buster Keaton remastered so it’s not lost to the ages. Anything interest you this week?

Blu-ray Releases For The Week Of 12.8.11

Cowboys & Aliens looked interesting but after reading some reviews I decided not to see it in the theaters and wait for a rental later. I haven’t seen the first or the second “Hangover” movies, am I missing out? The Mission Impossible movies (#1 – #3) are available on Blu-ray this week. I got these from the library and I’ve been re-watching those with my wife because she has never seen those. She wanted to get caught up before watching the new Mission Impossible coming out this month. Just watching MI:2 last night… man I forgot how awful that movie was. I’ll be watching MI:3 this weekend. Hope it has aged better. Anything interest you this week?

Highlights for this week: Cowboys & Aliens, The Hangover Part II, Dragon Tattoo Trilogy: Extended Edition, The Simpsons: The Fourteenth Season, The Help, Vietnam in HD, Mr. Popper’s Penguins, The Debt, Tora Tora Tora, Mission Impossible Gift Set Collection (Mission: Impossibe / Mission: Impossible II / Mission: Impossible III).

If you didn’t get to watch “Cave of Forgotten Dreams” in a movie theater with 3D, you truly missed out. It was a surreal experience. Every human reading this should rent or buy this movie! Anything interest you this week?

Highlights for this week: Cave of Forgotten Dreams, Adele Live At The Royal Albert Hall, The Smurfs / The Smurfs: Christmas Carol, Smallville: The Complete Tenth Season, Friends with Benefits, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, 30 Minutes or Less, Another Earth, Our Idiot Brother, Horror Express, Chaos;Head: The Complete Series, Jackie Chan 4 Film Collection, Yu Yu Hakusho: Season Four, Star Driver Part 1, Nature: Radioactive Wolves.
