PS3BlogCast Episode 19
Posted by Clint in Gaming Industry, Media, PS3BlogCast, Talk on October 4th, 2011
I’m sure you all thought there wasn’t going to be a podcast this week, but there is! I apologize for the tardiness of it, unfortunately I was under the weather yesterday, and FooBear was busy at work past his usual time so we needed to reschedule. Better late than never! Plus I’m sure it brightened your day, yes? Waking up to find there is no new podcast… only to be greeted with one later! It’s like a present, from us, to you.
Join us this week for all the shenanigans you’re used to, as well as some gaming discussions. Also listen out for that secret word, as well as some details on how to get free early access into the Uncharted 3 Fully-unlocked multiplayer (or other bonuses).

Here’s a list of some things (or everything) we discussed:
Programming Tools Part 2
Posted by Darrin in Gaming Industry, PS3 on September 18th, 2011
A lot of people contacted me about my last post on Sony’s development tool choice for the upcoming PlayStation Suite. Many people agreed with me, but many others did not and honestly believe that Microsoft/C#/Visual Studio is really the best, easiest, and most popular way to program software.
I can summarize my rebuttal to that in three words: The Strange Loop. This is one of the best, if not the best, programming conferences that covers the most cutting edge programming concepts, applied technology, and paradigms. There are lots of programmer conferences and meetups, but this is the main event. This really gives you a feel for what the brightest programmers of today are really passionate about. (by the way, this is a yearly event, going on right now, and my current manager, and several coworkers, flew to St. Louis on their own dime because it is that good).
PS3BlogCast Episode 14
Posted by Clint in Gaming Industry, Media, PS3, PS3BlogCast, Talk on August 18th, 2011
It’s that time again, when we all gather round and listen to the podcast. Ok, so maybe that’s not how it’s actually done, but I can dream it can’t I?! Tune in to catch Ace, FooBear, and I discuss all the news that has come out of Gamescom this week, as well as a few other things!
SPECIAL NOTE: For those of you who haven’t yet beaten L.A. Noire, there is a spoiler spot in the podcast between the 58:00 and 59:20 mark. So just skip that small section when you get to it if you don’t want to hear any spoilers. You’ll hear it coming as well, so I give you plenty of time incase you forget.

PS3 Price Drop Happening… NOW!
Posted by EdEN in Gaming Industry, Hardware, PS3 on August 16th, 2011

Want to know something actually GOOD about the Gamescom Sony Conference? Effective immediately, the PS3 will have a price cut to better position it in the market and offer great value to compete with the Wii (as if!) and the 360. The 160 GB model will retail for only $249 while the 320 GB one will retail for only $299. As an added bonus, you could go for a special, limited edition inFAMOUS 2 bundle from some retailers that gives you a 320 GB PS3 system, a copy of inFAMOUS 2 and a free 30 day membership to PS+ (which SHOULD be included in ALL PS3 system configurations but that’s just my two cents)
Is the PS Vita “a car wreck”?
Posted by pedrolabate in Gaming Industry, PlayStation Vita, QuickNews on August 15th, 2011
I think it’s safe to say most of us are very excited about the (unfortunately delayed) PS Vita launch, but apparently that’s not how Lyle Hall and Matthew Seymour, developers at Heavy Iron Studios, feel. (on a side note, this studio is mostly responsible for adaptations from movies like Up, Wall-e, Incredibles and Ratatouille according to wikipedia)
These guys are really questioning the sales price of the product saying that “if people aren’t willing to pay $249 for a Nintendo 3DS why would they pay $299 for Vita?”. These guys believe mobile gaming is the future because “people don’t want to carry more than one thing in their pocket, that’s why Android and iPhone have done so well, they are the devices of choice, they offer multiple functions outside of gaming”
