E3 2012: Assassin’s Creed III Bundles Coming Later This Year
Posted by Jay in Assassin's Creed III, Assassin's Creed III: Liberation, E3 2012, Hardware Bundles, Media on June 5th, 2012
First, I will start off with saying that the PlayStation Vita will be getting a spin-off of Assassin’s Creed III, subtitled Liberation, which stars, for the first time in the series, a female lead role. Her name is Aveline, a woman with a French and African heritage. Since the game takes place in Louisiana, around 1765, the area will about to be handed over from the French to the Spanish, but an ultimately unsuccessful rebellion will try to stop it. Aveline, it seems, is part of this rebellion. Some standout weapons in Aveline’s arsenal include dueling pistols, a poison dart blow pipe, and a machete.
As for Assassin’s Creed III (PS3), we’ll be seeing four exclusive missions for that as well. On a related note, check after the jump for a gameplay trailer featuring Connor as a ship captain in the Caribbean (showing that there is some naval warfare; there is also a premiere trailer for Liberation). One last tidbit, according to Jack Tretton, if you link both PS3 and Vita games, you’ll unlock Connor’s tomahawk, a new character skin, a new multiplayer character (how much do you want to bet it will be Aveline?), and fully upgraded ammo pouches.
Now, with that out of the way, Ubisoft and Sony have once again teamed up for some bundles. There will be a PlayStation 3 bundled with Assassin’s Creed III, of course, but Assassin’s Creed III Liberation will also be bundled with a crystal white wifi PlayStation Vita (and a 4GB memory card). They will launch alongside the games on October 30th.

[E3 2011] New 3D Display and Accessories for PS3
Posted by Jay in 3D, 3D Gaming, Accessories, E3 2011, Hardware Bundles on June 7th, 2011
One relatively surprising announcement to come out the the conference yesterday was for this neat piece of hardware. Starting this Fall, retailers will be selling this new 24″ PlayStation-branded display for use with the PS3. It’s a 24″, 1080P 3D television that also showcases a feature Sakinah talked about in February, and that’s using the same display for two players, giving each player his or her own view on the display.
