To love and to hold.
Have you ever been in love? I have. To a machine. Not just a machine, but a PlayStation. Do you remember the day clearly? Your first PlayStation console? Whether you purchased it yourself or with the help of others, that day can never be erased from our memories. The first game I ever invested my time with was Metal Gear Solid. I was a freshman in college in Chicago. Winter break came along and I chose to stay in my dorm room. As my ex-girlfriend and her roommates went home for the winter, I stayed home with the company of Solid Snake and Sniper Wolf.
A couple years later, I’m out of college. I have my first job and I had my sights on a PlayStation 2. First paycheck, I went to my local Toys ‘R’ Us to purchase my second love. So many memories we made. From my first 23-2 game in SOCOM 2, to the endless nights securely transporting convoy trucks safely in SOCOM 3, the amazing final fight with Solidus Snake, the clutch field goal that won it for you in Madden 2003, the drama that unfolded with Ocelot, Volgin, and the Boss; after going through those experiences, I knew, at that moment, I would always be a PlayStation fan.
Landing in Japan on March 10th is the PS3 Slim Silver. Both the 160GB and 320GB variants will be available. Remember back when the Fat was in the Silver was made as a limited edition? Does color really matter you? Would you like to see this hit stateside? [Source]
For those of us who have fallen victim to the YLOD, one of the potential problems that causes it was the deterioration and melting of the lead-free solder on the hot-running RSX chip. Over time, the solder will have potentially melted off of a contact, causing the error, which required the solder to be re-flowed onto the contacts (using the same solder).
Doing it that way will likely not be a permanent fix, since it was that solder that caused the problem to begin with. If you researched fixes, the closest thing you can get would be a reballing service (which replaces all of the RSX solder with new stuff), preferably a lead-based solder. That’s where Gophermods comes in.
OK before I begin, here at PS3Blog.net we do not condone piracy of any kind. This article is just news that I have stumbled across and wished to publicise due to general interest in the PS3 Scene.
So, what’s new about the whole piracy scene? Gamers acquire pirated/copied games and play them on their modded consoles – nothing new there, but the whole scene just took a turn for the worst. With Sony working very hard to stamp out piracy on their once unbreakable PS3, Spain, which in my opinion is rather popular for it’s omelette’s, beaches and football teams such as Barcelona and Real Madrid etc; decided to throw a spanner in the works by declaring it legal to sell the PS3 Jailbreak mod chip in the country.
