Releases for the Week (February 27th-March 4th)

After the crazy “let’s hurry up to release our game during launch week, or even the week before the full release” rush, Vita skips this week as no new games are released.

The highlights for this week include SSX, Hyperdimension Neptunia mkII, and Primal, a PS2 classic that most of us didn’t get a chance to play when it originally launched for Sony’s last console. One interesting release on PSN is the Killzone 3 Multiplayer. Yes, you read that right, you can now buy the Killzone 3 Multiplayer mode all by itself. Actually, you download the mode for free and you can play it as long as you want… with a catch. The release/almost demo comes with a level cap that can only be overcome by purchasing the activation key. Apparently, the single player part of the package will not be available at a later day, so it will be interesting to see if this is treated as a stand alone game with its own Trophy list, or if trophy hunters will have to track down a retail copy to complete their trophy list for the game. We also have Storm, an interesting game that is more laid back in nature and that tasks us with making seeds grow by using the power of the wind, of rain, and even by summoning lighting to do our bidding.

[Review] Hungry Giraffe – minis

Hungry Giraffe Review

It sucks when you’re hungry. Sometimes you just want to bury your face into a burger, or tear into a taco. Out on the African savannah, a Hungry Giraffe feels your pain.

A 20 foot tall, 1200kg animal like the giraffe needs to chow down on tons of food each day, just to stay alive. But, oh no! All the tastiest leaves have been eaten, while up in the sky endless quantities of snacks, fruit and junk food hover just out of reach!

Hungry Giraffe features the world’s largest and hungriest even-toed ungulate. Through skillful steering of his neck, you can propel your half-starved giraffe on his twisty-turny upward journey, chomping on strawberries, fries, sandwiches and naughtier treats.

But beware! The skies are also strewn with hazards. Poison, Anvils and non-prescription Drugs also hover up there, ready to send unwary giraffes plummeting to earth.

Hungry Giraffe is by FAR the greatest giraffe-feeding game of all time! Dare you miss out?

Releases for the Week (February 20th-26th)

With the release of the PS Vita set for February 22nd, more and more Vita games are starting to show up at retail (and on PSN) for all new buyers to get their game on.

While not as crazy packed as last week, we do have eight PS Vita releases as well as two PS3 retail releases and two “now on PSN” formerly retail-only games. Not only that, but we are also getting two minis releases with Hungry Giraffe (for which we’ll have a review soon!) and Touchdown Fever, as well as one PS2 Classics release thanks to Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers.

Overall, this is a good week for all PS fans and especially for PS Vita fans since we have to remember that all Vita games you buy directly at the PSN Store will give you access to a 10%+ discount!

Releases for the Week (January 30th-February 5th)

The last week of the month is here and we finally start to get more than one retail releases as publishers realize that we actually like to purchase games all year long (and not only during the holiday rush). The three retail releases bring something for everyone, as we’re getting Final Fantasy XIII-2, sequel that is supposed to “fix” everything that was wrong with FF XIII (which, if you ask me, was nothing at all), Soul Calibur V (fighting games are back in style!) and NeverDead (a game that is so weird, that I’ll just point you to the trailer so you can see what it’s all about).

On PSN, the only new release is Puddle. Other than that, we get some formerly retail only games that are now part of the digital service.
