November Needs to Hurry Up And Get Here Already

I’ve been sitting here for the past 20 minutes looking at a blank screen on my iPhone4, not sure how to type this next article. Should I make it a “puff” piece? What should I do? Should I stick to the facts? Should I just base it on personal experience like I have with my past articles and hope you all don’t come after me with torches and pitchforks? What should I do? Should i just bombard you with sales figures and other overwhelming stats? What should I do? Should I NOT rip off Lebron James and just get to the point? That’s exactly what I’m going to do.

Nathan Drake.

Let’s face it, the man is like Indiana Jones on steroids. He’s a downright, no punch pulling – hero. He’s also quite brash when facing danger right in the eye. He’s the kind of guy that doesn’t run from bullets, but takes the shortest path to them. He’s got zingy one-liners and a chiseled jawline. He knows how to handle himself in a fight and knows his way around a weapon or two. If you’re planning on going into a gunfight, you’re going to want this cat on your team. He’s got past loves and current ones. He has enemies and then he’s got people that just want nothing more on this earth then to watch him die slowly – the purest of villains. He’s also a complete workup of fiction. Created by a small Santa Monica development studio – Naughty Dog, way back in early 2006.

Mark Wahlberg to Play Nathan Drake in Uncharted Movie

mwLast month, Sony had signed David O. Russel as the director for the Uncharted movie. Now the more pressing question is, who’s playing Nathan Drake? For those still hoping it’ll be Nate’s voice actor, Nolan North, you’d be a bit disappointed. Sony has already cast an actor, and he’s not among the popular picks on the internet.

If you’ve been following the Hollywood scene, then yes,Mark Wahlberg has indeed confirmed that he will be playing the wisecracking treasure hunter in the movie based on the Uncharted games. Wahlberg and Russel have just worked together in “The Fighter”, which hits theaters in the US this December.

Wahlberg also confirmed rumors that Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro may have roles in the film.

Uncharted Novel Announced

While we wait to get our hands on Uncharted 3, it looks like we will be able to hold ourselves from fanboy exhaustion by reading “Uncharted: The Fourth Labyrinth” which will be written by Christopher Golden.

Nathan Drake will embark on an all-new, original, action-packed adventure-in search of a secret that will put him on the trail of the legendary labyrinth of Daedalus, and take him from the ruins of Crete to a secret crypt deep in the heart of China!

The book will not be a sequel or prequel but a stand alone story as to not take away from the game.

I for one will be jumping head first into this. It is scheduled to be released Fall 2011.

Uncharted Movie Finally Gets a Director

They better not mess this one up! The Hollywood Reporter reports that a director has officially come on board for the Uncharted movie adaptation.

David O. Russell is said to have already signed on the dotted line not only to write but also to pen the screenplay for Nathan’s Hollywood adventure. Included in his portfolio are the movies Three Kings,Flirting With Disaster and I ♥ Huckabees. Not heard of any of them? Yeah, time to check him out on IMDB.

If it makes it any more comforting, though, he’s coming out with a new movie later this year, The Fighter, starring Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg.

Uncharted movie delayed. MIGHT see light of day in 2012!

Although the Uncharted series on the PS3 has been a great success, it doesn’t seem like it’s getting as much love on the big screen. According to Los Angeles Times director David O. Russell (Spanking the Monkey, I Heart Huckabees, and Three Kings) seems to have dropped out of the project. It has now been reported by the Los Angeles Times that the studio is going to be starting. It seems that Columbia and the producers might try to attach a blockbuster cast to play the male and female roles for the movie before searching for a Director.

I for one would love to see this movie since I really enjoyed both games. I can only hope that they get a great director for the movie, someone that has that “Indiana Jones” or “The Mummy” touch. I do have to admit that I am extremely excited about the movie, but with 2012 being the end of the world. I’m not sure if we are ever going to see this come to fruition.

Hugh Jackman starring in Uncharted film?

The voice of Nathan Drake (Nolan North) has hinted that he would like to see Hugh Jackman play the part of Nathan Drake in the upcoming movie. Supposedly Hugh Jackman is the front-runner for the part. Could you see Wolverine .. I mean Hugh play Nathan? I could see it if he did his own stunts.

“Jackman is who I’d like to see. I think the producers would like to see Jackman too, because he has that tough guy exterior, but [...] there’s also a lot going on behind his eyes. A lot of emotion and sensitivity on that brusque exterior, and he has great comic timing. He’s a phenomenal actor. I just hope I get a part on the movie so I can work with Hugh.”
