Short and sweet update. Sony has just announced two new games that will be added to the instant game collection: Rochard (which we reviewed) and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition!
I’m sure we’ll get another soon with a list of extra sales and discounts for PS+ subscribers to close the year, so be sure to visit us!
Sony updated their SEN (Sony Entertainment Network) service today with a welcome feature that many have asked for. EU accounts can now access their PSN store from a web based interface. The SEN Store sports the same design aesthetic we now see on our PS3. It’s actually a lot more tolerable in the browser where you aren’t limited to just two rows of items. You are able to search easily and sort items by category, and date but, mysteriously, not by game title. Oh well, it’s not like anyone would want to look for DLC by game title on a video game online store. I’m sure they’ll get around to it if it ever becomes a bother. /sarcasm.
Unlike the similar Xbox 360 web store, you are unable to begin downloads on your console, but you can complete purchases via browser and find them at the top of your downloads list for easy (sort of) access. No more waiting to get home in order to redeem those PSN codes you win from PS3Blog.Net.
The update is limited to the EU region for now but like the store revamp there’s no reason as to why this feature shouldn’t trickle down to the lowly NA region after it’s been ironed out on the backend.
Down on his luck as a struggling gramophone salesman, Barry comes across the “secret” laboratory of Legitimate Research, a corporation dedicated to developing crazy new technologies. Seizing the chance to become a hero, Barry begins his ride after commandeering a jetpack and making good his escape, where the player jumps in and guides his adventure with accessible one-touch gameplay.
Along the way, players must avoid lasers, missiles and electro zappers, all the while grabbing coins and trying out even more ridiculous vehicles – Lil’ Stomper, Profit Bird and the robot dragon himself, Mr. Cuddles!
Supporting the action is a robust Stash system, where everyone can track their progress, upgrade their gear and buy new gadgets for Barry. Grab one of many jetpacks including the classic Machine Gun Jetpack or the colorful Rainbow, suit up in a vast wardrobe of unique costumes and make sure Barry’s best friend Flash comes along for the ride!
Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, a heart-warming tale of a young boy named Oliver, who embarks on a journey into a parallel world in an attempt to bring his mother back from the dead. Along the way, Oliver makes new friends and adopts many of the wonderful creatures that inhabit the world, raising them to battle other creatures on his behalf as he takes on formidable enemies. Developed by LEVEL-5 alongside Studio Ghibli, the legendary animation studio, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch combines beautiful animated visuals, masterful storytelling and a sweeping score into an epic role-playing adventure like no other.
A demo for the upcoming JRPG Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is now available on the PSN. This is one of the upcoming games I was the most hyped to play in early 2013, and I’ll share with you my impressions of the demo.
Long story short, the demo blew my mind.
