PlayStation Plus Last Call

Featured offers for PlayStation Plus subscribers will be coming down on April 5th, so you have until then to take advantage of what has been offered.

Sonic the Hedgehog will be returning to $4.99, so grab it if you already have not.

Wakeboarding HD is going to be $9.99 unless you grab it at its current price of $3.99. The game is fun and is a solid purchase in my eyes.

Swarm is heading on up to $14.99, so if you aren’t sold yet from our numerous articles on it, you should be; currently at $11.99.

Mini Squadron PlayStation minis is $1 until the 5th, so grab it and add it to your collection (unless you plan on spending an extra dollar to get it later at $1.99).

Mega Man 3 is at $3.00, and can be found under the PS1 Imports section; it will be returning to $5.99.

Check after the jump to see what’s coming next month!

Help with Tsunami Relief on PSN

Besides supplies being donated by Sony to help with the relief effort, they have also made it possible for us to donate through the PlayStation Network and help those in need as well. To go about doing this, you will need to go into the new release section of the PlayStation Store and look for “Aid Japan”.

You will, then, be able to donate $2, $5, $10, $25 and $50 from your wallet, which will also net you a free theme (pictured above). Even if you didn’t get anything out of it, it is still important that we help those in need; despite racial, economical, religious, and social status. All funds from donations will go to American Red Cross – Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Fund. Every little bit will help!

Control the XMB with PlayStation Move

Anton Mikhailov mentioned that it’s possible to control the XMB with the PlayStation Move. Now we have some details. What is really interesting is these guys don’t even have a PlayStation Eye hooked up!

That’s the screen that greets you when you first try to access the XMB with a Move attached. Not the chaps in brollies, mind, they’re part of an advert from PlayTV. The screen explains that to navigate the XMB, you simply hold in the trigger and move the Move up, down, left or right . Except you don’t, really, I found it’s much more responsive if you angle the controller rather than move it.

Here is a neat way to control a Blu-ray/DVD movie. Hold the trigger and swing the Move to control the playback speed (and direction) of the movie.

Shark Week Dynamic Theme

For those who watch the Discovery Channel, Shark Week officially kicked off last night. It’s probably one of the most celebrated weeks in all of documentary television. Given that, I thought to myself how cool it would be if there was a dynamic theme to go along with it. To my surprise, that’s what I came across.

I decided to browse SCEA’s Viddler profile, because, occasionally, they would post videos before they put a story on the blog, or not post them at all. Such was the case with this video, which shows off an underwater look at hammerheads swimming by above, with the water rippling on the surface. Pretty awesome, and will probably be the first dynamic theme I would have bought. It apparently became available on last week’s update :P .

EDIT:
After purchasing the theme, I have noticed that the lighting in the background is adjusted based on the system clock. Really cool!
