Releases for the Week (February 5th-12th)
Posted by EdEN in PLAYSTATION Store, PS3, PS3 software, PSN on February 7th, 2012
Things are definitely picking up this week as we’re getting 3 full retail releases, 4 PSN releases, 4 retail games making their way to PSN and THE PS2 classic we’ve all been waiting for: The SpongeBob SquarePants: Movie is finally here! This will probably be the last time we talk about PSN and PSN releases since Sony has decided to change things around a bit, and is re-branding the service as… SEN.
This week you can pick between the retail edition of the Jak and Daxter HD Collection, the digital edition (at the exact same price) OR you can pick each of the games by themselves should you not have enough money on your wallet (either physical or digital one), or if you just hate one of the 3 games (my bet is on you hating on J&K 2).

Releases for the Week (January 30th-February 5th)
Posted by EdEN in PLAYSTATION Store, PS3, PS3 software, PSN, PSP, PSP Go on January 30th, 2012
The last week of the month is here and we finally start to get more than one retail releases as publishers realize that we actually like to purchase games all year long (and not only during the holiday rush). The three retail releases bring something for everyone, as we’re getting Final Fantasy XIII-2, sequel that is supposed to “fix” everything that was wrong with FF XIII (which, if you ask me, was nothing at all), Soul Calibur V (fighting games are back in style!) and NeverDead (a game that is so weird, that I’ll just point you to the trailer so you can see what it’s all about).
On PSN, the only new release is Puddle. Other than that, we get some formerly retail only games that are now part of the digital service.

Releases for the Week (January 23rd-29th)
Posted by EdEN in PLAYSTATION Store, PS3, PS3 software, PSN on January 23rd, 2012
As is always the case, the year is off to a slow start. Not many games are being released in January (yes, Final Fantasy XIII-2 does indeed release in January, but it’s out on the 31st so it almost doesn’t count), so we have to make do with one new PSN release from Tik Games (and Published by Square Enix… hey!), and some retail to PSN digital releases of full featured games. Well, as full featured a release as you can call Duke Nukem Forever.
We’ll try to get a review copy for Scarygirl so we can let you know how the game made the jump from minis to full fledged PSN release. We already got to review Moon Diver from Square Enix a while ago, so let’s see how this one plays out. Buying anything this week?

[Review] Corpse Party (PSP)
Posted by EdEN in Corpse Party, Featured, PLAYSTATION Store, PSN, PSP, PSP Go, Reviews on January 23rd, 2012
Welcome to the abandoned and (reportedly) demolished halls of Heavenly Host Elementary School, where vengeful spirits dwell and the fires of corporeal existence are repeatedly and mercilessly snuffed. We hope you enjoy the tour, as it’s not about to end anytime soon. It may even last an eternity…
At this accursed school, a series of incidents occurred in which, ultimately, four students were kidnapped… and murdered. And though this ocurred 30 years ago, the corpse party still continues to this very day.

Releases for the Week (January 16th-22nd)
Posted by EdEN in PLAYSTATION Store, PS3, PS3 software, PSN on January 15th, 2012
It is time for Slow Start to the Year: Part Deux. This week, we get more digital releases for previosly retail-only games, two new PSN games (one of which is a PSN exclusive), no minis and no PsOne Classics. The highlights for the week will be Amy and Zack Zero. We’ll definitely have a review for you on Amy, and we’re currently working in securing a copy of Zack Zero. Now, from the digital releases for retail games, I would recommend either half of the Shadow of the Colossus/ICO collection since they’re only $20 each. You’ll get a great HD remaster of two of the best games from the PS2 era, lots of trophies (platinum included!) and some nice arguments for the “Are games art?” discussion.
Remember, we’re also getting a LOT of discounted games on PSN when the store updates tomorrow, so that’s something you should consider so you can make sure you have enough funds in your account!
