A new patch has been made available for 3D Dot Game Heroes which brings some balance to the force, adds 50 new pre-created hero characters for your game… and between those you get Sackboy, allowed so by Sony, for your pixel based adventures with awesome sauce.

It’s just a taste of the in-depth editing system in 3D Dot Game Heroes but gives you the opportunity to let your creative juices flow and you can even save your hero as an animated forum avatar, an image to add a dash of retro to your Facebook or Twitter page and a desktop wallpaper.

3D Dot Game Heroes Character Creation

Here’s a video showing the kind of things you can create in the game when you make your hero. I’ll say that it definitely looks pretty cool on how free you are to design your character. It’s only a matter of time until we see characters like Mario and Kevin Butler (Link has already been made; IGN posted a video of it a while back) 
. Anyone going to pick this up when it releases May 11th?

A new full length trailer for 3D Dot Game Heroes has been released. Can you say Legend of Zelda? Is Zelda public domain now? Am I that old? All kidding aside, this PS3 exclusive game definitely looks retro with a new updated feel. I will probably never play it, but I know there is a certain audience that this will appeal to. Aram Jabbari, manager of Public Relations and Sales at Atlus, posted this on the official PS Blog:

This new vignette released by Atlus lets us know it’s always a good idea to visit the blacksmith whenever you’re coming up short That sword at the end, holy cow! Enjoy.
3D Dot Game Heroes Confirmed for Europe

Awesome news as Sony continues to bring more foreign exclusives over to Europe for the PS3 with Yakuza 3 also due in March and now 3D Dot Game Heroes in May.
I’m here to announce a brand new PlayStation 3 exclusive: 3D Dot Game Heroes – a nostalgic wonder-fuelled time-travelling trip back to the glory days of 8-bit gaming. And it’s coming to Europe this May. Rejoice!

It’s Official: 3D Dot Game Heroes Coming to NA

Although I’m not really looking forward to this title, there’s a lot of interest for the game. Turns out, the game, from From Software, will be hitting the states, according to Sony’s Twitter, which states:
No need to import – 3D Dot Game Heroes for PS3 is DEFINITELY coming to NA! Spread the word, more to come.
As to when the game will hit store shelves, that’s still up in the air. It will be coming to Japan on November 5th, though. Given this announcement, are you going to import it to get it early, or will you be willing to wait it out until it is officially released into the states?

Check out this new gameplay from 3D Dot Game Heroes. Looks great to me. The special effect from the attacks actually look pretty cool, especially the fire. Will you be picking this title up if it’s released outside of Japan?
