Infinity Ward Security Meeting on PS3 Hacking
Posted by Eddie in Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty 5, Call of Duty Series, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on January 24th, 2011
Infinity Ward just finished a security meeting that entails the hacks displayed on the PS3 version of games for both hacked and non-hacked consoles. Here is what FourZeroTwo had to say:
I just left a security meeting with the coders here at Infinity Ward where we discussed a lot of solutions. I feel good about the meeting, but of course I can’t go into detail on the possible solutions we discussed as we don’t want to give out any information that could potentially hinder the security any further.
Once I have more information, I will post it here.
The key factor I want you to know is, that while any update takes time, we are looking to make the process as quick as possible and nothing is being left unattended.
Our main focus right now is on:
1) Preventing hackers from affecting legitimate players.
2) Addressing users who have already been affected.
He also stated that some of the problems need to be reported to Sony as well, so if you see someone hacking their way to victory, be sure to report them to Sony using this link.
Vince Zampella and Jason West from Infinity Ward ‘Respawn’ with EA

Not too surprising but big none-the-less, The two bosses of Infinity Ward that got Sacked by Activision have created a new company; Respawn Entertainment. Hmm I wonder what they could be referring to with that name? This news only helps to add further intrigue into the overdrawn lawsuit between the two developers and Activision after Zampella and West were accused of trying to sign with EA.
Vince Zampella, General Manager of Respawn Entertainment said this in announcing the deal;
“Respawn Entertainment marks a fresh start for Jason and me. For the past decade we led a great development team and poured our hearts into creating an epic game franchise. We’re very proud of what we built – and proud that so many millions of fans enjoyed those games. Today we hope to do it all over again — open a new studio, hire a great team, and create brand new games with a new partner, EA.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Teaser

I am excited for this! Call of Duty 4 is my favourite shooter ever. One of the few games I have ever afforded time to complete on the hardest difficulty. So far from the trailer I can make out Russians in an Airport and an Oil rig. Does that make the final epilogue of 4 (Mile High Club) a prequel to this game?

Games Night #5 – TONIGHT – CoD:WaW
Posted by Blackstaffer in Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty 5, Uncategorized on February 4th, 2009
UPDATE 2: Tonight’s the night! I’ll be in HOME beforehand, and I’ll enter CoD World at War at 10pm sharp and start sending invites to people as they come online. Please use your headset if you have one. Don’t forget to send me a PSN friend invite before 9:30 EST so that I can invite you into the party.
UPDATE 1: Switching game nights to Wednesdays.
Games Night #4 Redux
Last nigh a couple of us got together for some Call of Duty 4. Not all of us could be there the whole time, but I had some fun anyway. We started off with just AnnexGR and me playing a quick game of Headquarters which didn’t turn out to be so quick.
We immediatey got put into the smallest map (with the containers). So the time ran out on that one, but we won.
Then xBerserker and QiKo joined us for a couple games of Sabotage and lastly it was just me and QiKo playing some Ground War.
I had fun, but those hosts that end CoD matches early are really annoying. It leaves the rest of us sitting on our hands. Not polite.
I’m starting to learn about putting together game nights:
- It really would be better if everyone had headsets. I was the only one with a headset, and it was odd to be playing “with” some other players, but not be able to communicate with them. Tosh: why didn’t you use your headset?
- I shouldn’t start a match if I’m in the game early. That’s what we did last night and it went past the starting time. (Sorry QiKo.) Next time I’ll be online in the game at 10pm exactly, and I’ll send invites as I can.
- I didn’t visit HOME before the game last night, next time if I’m early I’ll go there instead of starting a game.
- Going back to playing CoD4 after playing CoD5 recently was refreshing. There’s just something about CoD4 that CoD5 lacks…
Games Night #5 – 03feb09 04feb09
Call of Duty: World at War! If we get four (or fewer) players together we can try some co-op. If we get more than four, we’ll do some regular multiplayer.
I’m in.
