Call of Duty Elite Info, and Beta Testing Sign-up

This somewhat funny video, entitled The Legend of Karl, has been released to give us more information about the newly announced Call of Duty Elite subscription service.
They have also announce a Call of Duty Elite Beta starting sometime this summer. You can sign-up now, at callofduty.com/elite.

Double XP Weekend for COD: Black Ops

The Call of Duty: Black Ops’s Facebook pagejust announced the following:
“Hey PS3 players, it’s time to catch up! To welcome you back online, we’re running a PSN-exclusive Double XP Weekend and 24/7 Nuketown playlist, starting this Friday the 20th at 10am PST, and running until Tuesday the 24th at 10am PST. Watch those ranks fly!”
Call of the Dead will be Arriving to Black Ops via the Escalation DLC

The upcoming COD: Black Ops DLC, “Escalation” map pack, will contain the previously rumored Call of the Dead level/s.
This co-op map was inspired by Night of the Living Dead creator George A. Romero, who also makes a cameo appearance in the game. You will be able to “fight for their lives amidst an army of bloodthirsty Soviet zombies”, as you play as the “zombie-killing dream-team” of, Danny Trejo (Machete), Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger), and Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead). The actors also voiced themselves for the game.
This trailer has actually got me excited to play a COD zombie level again. It looks really good.
No release date has been revealed for the PSN, but it will be sometime after the timed exclusive May 3rd release on Xbox Live.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation Multiplayer Preview

“Escalation”, the second downloadable content pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops, contains 5 all-new exceptionally varied maps; featuring 4 Multiplayer maps and an epic Zombies experience with all-new playable characters.”
Ignore the release date, as it’s a timed Xbox exclusive again. No word yet on the release date for the PSN.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Double XP Weekend

The Call of Duty: Black Ops, First Strike DLC hit the PSN yesterday, and caused a mess with the PSN store. Fortunately they got it back up and running quickly. They have, of course, just revealed a Double XP weekend, which is already live.
