Demon’s Souls North American Server Support Extended for Foreseeable Future

If you recall, back in April, we told you about Demon’s Souls servers being shut down this month. However, due to complaints from fans, the servers will be kept up for the foreseeable future. Atlus’ VP of Marketing and Sales, Tim Pivnicny, had this to say:
“We’re incredibly excited to be able to announce that the Demon’s Souls online experience will persist for a while longer. While it originally seemed as though it would be unfeasible for us to continue to sustain the servers, a number of developments have made it possible for us to continue to invest in and support our fans as they have continued to invest in and support us and Demon’s Souls. For all the gamers who have yet to discover the game’s amazing online experience, we’re happy to say you can still log on and find out why Demon’s Souls is still regarded by many as one of the finest games of all time.”
This means, if you had not picked this up and wanted to be able to play the title online, the server shutdown will not be a problem. Check after the jump for the whole press release.
Demon’s Souls Servers to be Shut Down Next Month

The Day is finally upon us when Demon’s Souls’ servers will be shut down. No more extensions by Atlus. May 31st will be the last time you can invade someone’s game and destroy them right before their boss fight. Atlus VP of Sales had this to say in an official statement sent to Game Informer:

Atlus has just made some very loyal Demon hunters extremely happy. We all know that Atlus loves its fan’s and it appears our hunting days are not over any time soon! They announced today, that the Demon Souls server has had its support extended into 2012.

Demon’s Souls Gets ‘Greatest Hits’ Treatment

According to a recent Press Release (which is available after the jump), Demon’s Souls will now be getting the Greatest Hits status, and will soon be hitting store shelves for $29.99. Atlus also advises that if you want to get the original boxing/art to hurry and pick those up now before supplies run out.
