Eight Days test footage.
Posted by Trev in E, PS3 software on September 21st, 2008
Here’s some early footage of the now cancelled Eight Days. Showing a cover system which I must admit isn’t too impressive. The reason I state this is because I’ve seen a lot of posts from people saying at how amazing it is but I can see why this game was cancelled. Enjoy what might have been though.

GDC08: Echochrome Gameplay

Another unique game coming to the PlayStation Network. In this game you must follow the five laws of perspective. I like puzzle games sometimes, so I may pick this up. I’m liking what I see so far
EndWar: Ready for a Voice-Controlled RTS?
Posted by Blackstaffer in E, PS3 software on February 11th, 2008
My first exposure to a RTS was Dune 2. From what I gather, it was one of the first (if not the first) RTS game of the current mold. It was quite a fun game, and I played it a lot. Then came Warcraft, Command & Conquer, and a bunch of other games. I thought that Dune 2 was a little rough around the edges and that Warcraft did a lot to improve upon the genre. Other games since then have really left me cold, without enough innovation to draw me.
Now Ubisoft hopes to do something I haven’t seen done successfully before: make a good RTS game for a console. Tom Clancy’s EndWar by Ubisoft Shanghai will get around the control issue by using voice commands, of all things.
Ubisoft teamed up with Fonix Speech to incorporate their VoiceIn Technology.
Fonix created a 70-word vocabulary for the game, which can be combined to offer thousands of voice commands. Players will be able to control all of their in-game soldiers, choppers, tanks and other weaponry by simply speaking into the headset microphone. Ubisoft will even be offering a bundle at retail for those gamers who don’t already own a headset for Xbox 360 or PS3.
Nowadays I give RTS games a wide birth, but if this game looks good enough I’ll at least give it a rental. Follow the link below for more, and tell us what you think!
IGN’s The Eye of Judgment Review
Posted by Gary in E, PS3 software on October 15th, 2007
Personally, I’m not too fussed with either the PLAYSTATION Eye or The Eye of Judgment. It looked quite cool when I first saw it but I think it’s going to get overlooked by most people, due to the amount of AAA titles being released between now and Christmas.
Anybody interested in this game? I wouldn’t mind a proper Yu-Gi-Oh! game using the PS Eye though. Now that would be awesome.
Here’s an interesting video showing XMB access from within The Eye of Judgment:
Everyday Shooter – Psychedelic

I have one word to describe Everyday Shooter, being released today on PSN for the PS3: psychedelic.
Quake Wars Teamwork Video

I’ve been keeping my eye on Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. It’s not on my purchase list right now, but it’s definitely on my rent-it-and-see list. The video below mentions that the game is about how well you work together with your teammates, and that this is more critical than individual ability. As well, it mentions objectives that, once gained, cannot be taken back by the enemy. That must be very satisfying if you obtain the objective, but very very frustrating if you’re denied it.
Anyway, here’s the video. Click the link below to see the HD version.
Another Everyday Shooter Vid

I’m still of two minds about Everyday Shooter, a PSN title coming to the PLAYSTATION 3 this fall. Some of the video looks cool, while other parts just look too trippy for me. I hope there’s a demo…

Gamespot has some videos of the 360 version of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. This game is coming out for the PLAYSTATION 3 as well, so I thought some of you might be interested in this. It’s just crazy how many first-person shooters are comming out soon for the PS3.

Next up, IGN has a pretty good interview with the Harmonix folks about Rock Band. Of note, it looks like you’ll be able to sing with a headset as well as with the available microphone. So if you really wanted to, you could both sing and play guitar (or drums) at the same time, like Geddy Lee! As well, if you just care about drums, you can play through the game just on the drums. Or any other instrument of interest, for that matter.
Yet another WWII shooter, Medal of Honor: Airborne, is coming to the PS3 in November. Games Radar has an interesting interview with EA about the game. The whole idea of dropping out of the sky and choosing where to enter battle is interesting to me. Especially because it means that the single player campaign won’t feel so much like you’re on rails.
While on the subject of shooters, please note that while keyboard and mouse support has been confirmed for UT3 on the PLAYSTATION 3, no support has yet been voiced for PC – PS3 play. Check out this interesting interview with Mark Rein about UT3. Can’t wait for those mods!

And last up, N’Gai Croal doesn’t think that the PS3 is the reason for the delay of GTA IV. To sum up: Microsoft could have pushed Rockstar to release GTA IV without PS3.
